Sounds about right... Unless you already have a backup of your profile save?

It was quite odd, first time i ran the SE of the game it imported my standard lbp2  with flying colors. now after the update ( which i havent played it quite a while) it did not detect it anymore but my standard save was still there.   I dunno  if i backed it up though... how owuld u know if the profile was backed up?  will it go to the save game file instead of the game data utilities menu? because all of LBP2 files are there...not on the "game save file" on the menu.

When you manually backup you game data/player profile it appears in the Save Game file... Game Utilities folder is where patch update or DLC data is stored...

Yes you are Chris. Cat Tongue

Anyways... what i don't get is my exisitng profile for LBP2 Smiley FrustratedE (which came from the standard LBP2) had to be undetected after a long time.  is it because of the updates? It's a hassle. Looks like it needs the original disc, the digital version does not detect my existing file too.

I don't know if it is because of not being updated but its not that bad of an assumption...

Anyways, thanks for your help mate . I had to restart the from scratch in the story modes. It was so weird i had someone who had the same ordeal that their save was just " inrecognizable" by the game and they did not back up their profile. I guess lesson learned.

I had the same issue as the original poster and there is no way around it. But I have lbp2 as well as the special edition but the Lbp2 disc isn't functional so if I delete the game data will I lose anything. I'm just being super cautious because in the past I lost nearly $200 in dlc because I deleted my original ps3 profile that was associated with my dads psn that I bought the Dlc from. It's only 3gb but that's 3gb I don't have for other stuff
