LittleBigPLanet Karting 4 player local online levels

Is there a way to actually be able to play online levels locally? It will allow us to play one level thats online, but then it will kick us off the server. Is this a bug or did they really not want anyone to play levels online with our friends locally? I can honestly say this is a huge step down from MNR :/

Its a bug that hasn't been patched yet and with the way things have been going so far for LBPK it might never be patched...
