Can't join friend and friend can't join me in LBP2

Okay, so every time I try to play with my friend RyoPwn in LBP2, I can't join him and he can't join me. We always get a "failed to connect to players" message. This has been happenign for awhile now. Now we both completed the tutorial levels (and the wholegame in general), so I don't know what the problem could be. Any ideas?

Some games have certain regions on the games judging what countries you can connect to. I do not believe LBP2 has this for I have joined people from the US, Japan etc.

One of you (or both) may have slow internet and isn't proving fast enough to be able to play games with others.

Make sure your ports are forwarded properly. LBP2 is P2P, and requires proper network setup to operate well.

But heres the thing, I can't connect to specifically him. Everyone else sure, but not him. Its something about the both of us that can't connect. Though if we're not the host, we can connect just fine.

And, that tells me that his (possibly even yours) PS3 hasn't been set up properly. His security on the router may be too strict, his ISP may be blocking ports, his ports not being forwarded properly or any combination of two or all three. If the ports are not forwarded properly, the router will just drop connection attempts.

First thing I suggest that I would put your friend's (or your) PS3 in the router's DMZ Mode and set a static IP.

Now, since there are many internet routers produced, I cannot link you to instructions unless I know the router's manufacturer and model.
