Really? I'm not in any way downing KZ2, It's a great game in its own right. I just prefer the responsiveness and look of KZ3. It's more appealing to me. I care not about being called a casual gamer and all that jazz, I simply prefer the way KZ3 plays.

It's not a bad thing but I'd rather have everything that made KZ2 great then the responsiveness and look of KZ3. For me KZ2 was the better of the two, the controls took sometime to get used to but other then that it has been the best fps experience I've had in a long time with any fps.
That's a fair statement. I suppose it all comes dodwn to personal preference in the end.
And the way you feel about KZ2 as an fps is the way I feel about KZ3.
I guess GG has managed to do a good job in the end huh?

Got BF3 weeks ago and I like it but that game has many problems that need to be corrected, like the broken VOIP.
I haven't played KZ3 in months, but yesterday I decided to play it and man does it feel different than BF3. First, it feels smoother. I don't know exacly why but the controls are more responsive than BF3.
The motion blur in KZ3 (which BF3 lacks) makes the game so smooth. The guns also feel great. And then there are the graphics, which are still amazing on KZ3. I know it doesn't have huge maps or destruction like BF3, but it sill looks better than that game. I won't say one game is better than the other as I like both. Wish KZ3 had server browser and squad spawning though.

That pretty much sums it up for me also. I stopped playing KZ3 online because I got very frustrated with a couple of aspects of the game (Null mentioned them earlier), but those few annoyances were enough to make me quit. I do, however, prefer the controls of KZ3.
KZ2 was so close to perfect it isn't even funny. The 1.27 patch was a step backward in a few areas IMO, but other than that there were just a couple of issues here and there that prevents me from saying that KZ2 IS perfect. It's a 9.9 out of 10 for me easy. (Take the VC9 away from Assault, and give that class the double health again, and it's a "10"! lol)
The major problem in KZ3 has to be matchmaking. It is awful. I can't even find games with the DLC (maybe it is because I have only two map packs and am missing one). Wasted money. At least in KZ2 with the server list you could find the game you wanted and it was easier to get into matches with DLC maps. GG tought that by adding matchmaking the game would be more "accessible" and attract new players but they were wrong. If there is a KZ4, I think GG needs to add back a server list and keep matchmaking too (fixed, of course). Battlefield 3 has both so I don't know why a Killzone game can't.
KZ2 is the gold standard by which all other FPS get measured by me! KZ2 dominated my gaming time ... and once I hit CIC, I still played the game and yet again once KZ3 came out. KZ3 is good, but its no KZ2. If they would release some new DLC for KZ2 ...I would buy it in a heartbeat !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

KZ2 was great, but it had its problems. Still, it is one of my favorite FPS. KZ3 had the potential to be better than KZ2, but bad decisions made by GG didn't make that possible. Hopefully they learned their lesson and if there is a KZ4 they listen to the fans.
For my money, Killzone 2 is the best FPS ever.
Killzone 3 is great, but Guerrilla's strong point was never storytelling, and they expended a lot of effort telling a very simple story in Killzone 3. The game would've benefitted from a more sparse, KZ2 approach to the campaign, but KZ3 is still awesome.
I don't play Battlefield. I bought BFBC2 and BF3 for my son's Xbox and I'm just not a fan. Oddly tho...I did enjoy the campaign of MoH.
Unfortunately the Killzone series suffers from what many AAA Sony exclusive franchises do...crappy support from Sony and the developer.
