I've taken that other game out of my sig. While I'm still horrid in this game, at least I have a fighting chance from time to time with those at the same rank/level as myself.

Sure I'm a lousy gamer, but in that other game I became a lousy angry gamer.....and that's not how I like to play a game.

I agree with BJD. To me KZ2 is the best shooter I've played. It is disappointing that the game does not get the credit it deserves. The game has barely any awards. All article I read about the best games of the year, KZ2 does not get mentioned and if it does is VERY briefly while other games get all the attention. I somehow feel the media just tries to pretend the game does not exist, and I do not know why. Maybe because GG shut their mouths and delivered a magnificent shooter that to my eyes lived up to the infamous E3 trailer. Or maybe because the game feels too different from their beloved COD and they are afraid of change. I really don't know.

Every single game will have fan boys and haters, every single game will have its good and bad points. I judge what I like based on the fun I have playing it, not by what the fans or haters say. I will argue and flame or kudo and support what I deem fit and right. I will smash the ill informed and flame the trolls. Yes KZ2 is a FANTASTIC game, loved it. But in my opinion it turned into CAMPZONE. When the whole team is in your spawn with sentry guns and you can't do a thing.. or next to nothing.. its gets really old FAST. That is was happened to me, I have a hard time bringing myself to play it anymore. But after playing the "other" game, I can say that I agree, KZ doesn't get the accolades it so justly deserves for being a beautifully well built and executed game of the highest standards. I will not trade it, and I will play it again.. Long Live KZ2

Its a simple reason for that. k2 is one of many fps for the ps3. all offers there own strength and weaknesses. mw2 is a multi platform game lots more people in that then kz2. they woudl rather report about a game that everybody can appeal too. kz2 is a great game we all know that. press will make it out whatever they can if they wanted too. $$ talks.

honestly kz2 wasnt marketed right. Sony didnt make that mistake with u2 gow3 and gt5. those games will get the recongnition it deserves. i feel kz2 wont.

This is a mystery to me as well. I had showed the game to some where their jaw dropped and others where they just didn't care as much and just go to COD. I would have said that the kind of game (look wise) it is does not appeal to everyone but then again, Gears has that gritty look as well and that sold great. Now in terms of marketing, Sony didn't have a marketing blitz but the game had passionate fans that loved it, and people who couldn't own it (no PS3) just hated on it to put it down, and then you have the folks who felt pressured by the passionate fans and just cowared away because of it's hardcore elements. Honestly, that's the best I can comeup with. Marketing was all by the gamers though Sony did push a bit, word of mouth wasn't strong enough. Heck, people tried it and returned it from my understanding. I still like KZ2 better than U2 and I think it looks better (hard to compare fps to 3ps but that's my preference).

Very disheartening what the media said then just ignored:

"Yeah. KZ2 was a great start for sony. Didn't really live up to the trailer but was close. Multiplayer is great fun and will keep you playing for a long time. I give it 9.5/10"

Then where the heck is it not on your GOTY list??!!! Also, it DID live up to the trailer and I think surpassed it! I'd rather play what I have now than a version of the trailer.

I'm sad about this and disheartened

It's the whole reason why I had to finally go out and get a second PS3...so I can play when I feel like it. Now I need to do is let her let me get a bigger HDTV for the 2nd PS3.

I also think another problem is that the game was released way early in the year and most people forgot about it already. It happened with quite a few games too. I think the game could have been marketed better, specially since the game was in development for so long and the anticipation was huge. It could have been a better launch. I have many friends that bought the game, did not like it and moved on. That was mainly for the controls. As usual, they were accustomed to COD, and when they got their hands on KZ2 obviously there is a huge difference in the gameplay in terms of movement, aiming, etc. so I think they were turned off by that. Those who gave it a chance and adapted stayed while the others just either sold the game or never played it again.
