Heavy Rain

I reached a point in the game (somewhere midway through) where halfway through the chapter, I get a black loading screen that never ends. I've tried returning the the XMB then reloading, replaying the chapter, etc. and nothing works. I read online that a patch for this issue was released, but I can't download it without downloading 2.00 which makes it so I can't play the game without the PS Move (which I don't have). Great job, Sony/Quantic Dream/ whoever is responsible for that.

My question is, do any of you have a solution for this? It's incredibly frustrating to put time and money into a game only for it to glitch out and become unplayable. I really don't want to restart the game, especially considering that I don't even know for sure that I won't run into this ridiculous glitch again once I reach this particular point in the game. If there is nothing I can do, I'm just going to trade this thing back in at gamestop. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Of course you can play Heavy Rain without PS Move even if you download the latest patch. PS Move is only optional and you can change between Dualshock and PS Move in the ingame-menu at any time.

Sorry, no solution here. I was looking in to buying Heavy Rain- thank you for posting this! The game is still holding at $56 price range- almost a year after release- is it that great? I have no time for any glitches. If I pay almost $60, it better works with out patches. I can't believe this! It getting common to sell software that is not working and blame it on hardware, OS or other excuses. This needs to stop. If it does not work- it should not be released for sell. Sorry to hear about your problem.

only had one lock up through the whole game and i think its cause the move controller shut off

and to confirm, yes you can still play with a normal controller after you update

Ok so I updated the system, having no idea how stupid my decision was. As soon as I downloaded it I tried to play and the game loaded but it told me to on mu move remote. Which I don't have. I was pretty pissed to not being able to play my favorite game, so tell me how you can change the settings to the original remote. Please.

The game is a Greatest Hits game now and is $30. You should really pick it up and not let this stop you from buying it.I bought it at launch for $60 and thought it was worth every penny, and the game didn't lock up or freeze on me once!

Im pretty sure its not telling you to connect Move. Its most likely the PS Move safety precautions you are seeing. The game does not require Move to be played, its an optional feature which does add a lot of fun. You can still play the game with your DualShock.

I just got this game and downloaded the 2.00 patch.  it would not let me past the PS eye screen so I went back and deleted the patch and played without it.  Now it freezes up everytime the main guy puts his clothes on.  this is getting very frustrating.

This is so late, but I too was having problems with this game. Random glitches that won't allow the game to further. For example after the accident when your son is at your place, my character would walk up the stairs weirdly. Like he was constantly getting hit in the backs of the knees with every step. Also, when playing with the detective, I could walk through the staircases. After leaving the woman in the hotel, the guy that enters the room shortly after I leave just stands at the top of the staircase. I couldn't get past him, he was blocking the way. Also, he wouldn't go into the room.  He just stands there and moves his head in whatever direction I'm in. Creepy, had to put the game away.
