Auto-suggest helps you quickly narrow down your search results by suggesting possible matches as you type.
While I've come across a bug once or twice while going through the game (forcing a do-over from the previous save), Heavy Rain never actually "crashed" on me... if we're thinking of the same kind of bug. I was also watching a friend play through the game months ago, without seeing any instances of a glitches getting in the way.
