I actually saw that before and tried it, I don't quite understand the part where you say press the PS button to turn on the controller (guitar right?) then also the part about pressing the button on the connector......it is already flashing as soon as the system powers up, so lets see....

1. plug in usb connector with system off

2. press ps button on guitar

3. turn on system using button on system

4. press dongle button

5. press ps button on quitar again?

Yeah, that's right. This should work for you. When I say that the connecter is flashing, I mean flashing rapidly, not slowly. So if for osme reason it is already flashing rapidly, leave it like that.

I just finally picked up GH III last night and also had trouble getting everything connected. I thought I had everything done right and I had solid red lights on both the guitar and the puck but still couldn't use it in the game, even though I could use the PS button and bring up the menus, and navigate the game menus with the guitar.

Tried exiting out of the game and restarting and still nothing. Finally rebooted the whole PS3 and it has worked like a champ since.

the support for the guitar SUCKS! unreal.

I've been reading through everything here.  You say there's supposed to be a light on the usb connector thing?  I don't see any light....

well ended up sending the guitar and the usb connector back to redoctane they said they would exchange it.  the usb thing that is shaped like a pick has a flashing light when you plug it in to your usb on your ps3
