Nope, unfortunately.  You will have to wait for GTA V for multiplayer in San Andreas.

Well, it DOES have the 2-player mode - just not the multiplayer we're all familiar with.

Pretty much this.

If anything new were to be added, it wouldn't be a PS2 classic. And more likely Rockstar is busy with GTA V and its multiplayer.

i prefer split screen multiplayer instead of online multiplayer. San Andreas would of been the bomb with split screen. I like being able to play with my brother instead of us both having systems and having to play over the LAN or online. it's gaystation's way of making housholds buy two consoles and two copies of the same game. i'm not a big multiplayer gamer. i prefer games w/ a story than run-and-gun.

I do believe that you and your brother can play on the same system when playing GTA SA - you just need to have a second controller connected to the PS3 and then just assign who's gonna control which character.

I know thats what we do...but the limited camera functions have us on the same screen, im sure you have played it on mulitiplayer. But It's not split screen multiplayer both players are on the same screen and can only run so far away from the other player because it wont zoom out. both players don't have full control of there screen/view, they have to stay close together. Also the second player doesn't have armor, and has too ride in the same vehicle. it would be better as split screen with both having full control like they were in first player mode.

I actually never did the 2 player mode, since I'm the only one that plays these games...MY brother doesn't even LIKE the GTA series for some reason lol. I told him he's nuts. I've been playing ever since GTA III - I also played 1 and 2 for a bit, but I never got used to the top-down camera view as it drove me bonkers.

WOW! he's sure missing out they have a fairly decent story, I started on 1 and streets of london when they first came out, 2 was pretty fun, but then 3 took the series to the roof.  its worth seeing the way they did multiplayer in SA, go to youtube and try to find a video of xbox or ps2 multiplayer...theres no slit screen...its whack

Yeah, I still kid him about it every once in awhile lol. I'm like that with the military-type games such as the COD franchise...I'm just not into the 1st-person shooter stuff. I even had to knock someone off my friends list because he/she kept sending me msgs regarding Black Ops after I told them to stop it several times since I don't HAVE Black Ops. I guess we all like what we like lol.
