Online: Free Roam

I'm sure that this question has been answered a billion times on here, I've even done a search on the forum but I just can't seem to get a straight answer out of it. Will there be an online 'free-roam' similar to how Crackdown was but without the missions like Crackdown?

Please don't flame me for mentioning a 360 game, it's just the only one that I could think of that I enjoyed.

If some of you haven't played Crackdown, I'm just thinking of an open lobby where your friends can join and you just openly roam the city just like you would by yourself in Single Player and kill innocent people and just relax and talk to your friend(s).

Yep, there will be, 16-player if I'm not mistaken.

Im pretty sure the free roam is only for 2 players. The other 14 game modes are for 16players

No there's 16-player free roam in one server.

From what I've read, the Free Roam will more or less be the "Lobby" to the other 4 game modes.

Sounds like with the cell phone coming into play and the full world just jumping right into online play, it'll be a lot like the way Burnout does online.

From what I've read, you start an online game (can prob pick join or host) then from there you all run around until the host (again like Burnout) picks a game type to start up. It sound like the host will have TONS of options to set up for each game type too...so there could be some fun "rules" put into place.

But yeah, 16 person free roam will be there because its like the Lobby to the other online games.

I wonder if you can chat freely to everyone in Free Roam or do you have to stand near them to hear em?

That was my assumption as well. Also you can't rank up so to speak in Free Roam. You can only gain cash in the other modes.

Yeah, but free roam will be so much fun! Lol. Make up your own games etc. Imagine getting a big car or bus and rolling down the hood with 8 guns blazing out at the citizens and other 8 players!
