Has anyone found that some times the in-game radio doesnt work or the mission cut scenes have no sound??
Yeah... not sure everyone is getting this, but mine defaulted to rear surround speakers. Which I do not have going through my TV.
Go to your audio options menu and select stereo and see if that corrects the problem. Did for me.

Ok very disappointing that the audio is not up to par. The sound is pretty good until we get to the storyline and it seems to fade out. We are running a 50" Plasma with top of the line surround sound, other games work fine but the GTA4 doesn't seem to like the back speakers. It only keeps to the front side speakers and center. We have tried all of the settings on both the audio system and the PS3. Nothing seems to be fixing the problem.....all we can think of is that there need to be some updates with the audio? Looking for some feedback on this issue. Im up for any thoughts and comments please........GTA rocks......just needs a few tweaks here and there.
Thanks a bunch...:-)

Do you know a way to fix this by any chance?
No I don't. :/ Wish I did... I would tell people. Trying to figure it out. It could be just GTA IV having bad audio issues. Makes me wonder what the connection with trying to quit the game and there's a delay, and the PS3 restarting itself is. I'm searching for answers. I'm reading in a forum of another site who have it on PC and have audio issues too. Right here: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=38821
"Many people have the same problem, no advice given in this thread fixes anything (I've tried them all), except playing with unpatched GTA 4. This bug was introduced by the first patch and was not corrected in the second.
Rockstar never acknowledged this bug, so they didn't fix it in their last patch. They have a poor quality control. But since this board is flooded with multiple issues, I guess it will take one more year to bugfix their faulty product."
There's no true answer for how to fix it. But, there seems to be some answers for what it is and what's going on. It seems that a way to solve the problem is for Rockstar to release an update patch that comes with a fix for the audio bug.
