I bought Grand Theft Auto III from the PSN on my PlayStation 3, obviously, thinking I could use my old PS2 save file through the Memory Card Utility. I found out that the GTA III PS2 Classic uses its own PS2 Game Save Utility as opposed to the Memory Card Utility. Is there anything I can do to play my old save file? Or do I have to start a new save file and play the whole game again?

You'll need to start a brand new save file unfortunately.
