I have spent since 4:00 trying to open my router to NAT 2. And, my wife says she would string me up with the cable Iwant to use..... grrrr....

Thanks. I went looking for previous info, and found that my web speed is probably too slow. I'm not pulling 1.0 Mbs down, and far less up, so I'm quite out of luck. Oh, well. I can race online some.

Don't give up, I have(had) similar issues in the past.

When I first decided to race with RH (real humans) my Down speed was .965mbps and Up .4??... I was like a really bad time traveler not having any control over where my car was going to reappear. I raced that way for a couple months while my wife got to see how much fun I was having, despite the difficulty. (Thanks for putting up with me Monkeys). I finally said I had to give it up, with my best sad eyes.." I just can't keep doing this to my friends" . It wasn't long before we got better service and an Ethernet cable tucked nicely under the baseboard. Still no rig in the living room (might have to get out the poutty lip for that one) but all in all it is worth the effort to :

A. Find the best ISP you can

B. Get wired and dedicate those ports

C. Let your loved one be a part of the decision,  GT is after all one of the safest and cheapest hobbies a man can have.

Good luck.

Could it perhaps be your router? When I first started messing with online gaming, I had a Belkin N150 Basic Router, which is best for general online stuff other than gaming (although it WILL work), but you'd be constantly plugging/unplugging the router in order to get it to NAT Type 2 like I had to keep doing, so I upgraded to a Belkin N450 Dual-band router and I've been NAT Type 2 ever since. On top of that, I'm wireless...my speeds are roughly the same as yours...I did a check earlier and it showed 1.0 MB for d/l and 423.1 for u/l...keep in mind that these figures are just estimates. I don't see 1.0 very often when I do a check...I tend to be in somewhere in the 900 range.

is there a good source for what ports to open up/forward for GT5?

i'd like to do some experimenting with making sure that I can see everyone on the track. twice now in MasterGT's Monday racing I have not been able to see OldBoy on the track... hope I didn't wreck him!?

You're not alone in that man and I feel your pain. I'm lucky if I can get a half a meg of download (on good days) and I get barely 100KB/S of upload, I just make do with what I've got. a bit off topic, it would help a lot if people didn't want the best looking games. detail don't make a good game and we all need to see that, enough said.
