14 replies 50 views Edited Jan 12, 2011

I tuned my ZR1 with my modifications and make it faster so I could get money to save for the racing modifications. I buy the racing modifications and I started with 900HP flat and after getting the mods I get 694HP! WHY!?!?! 384,000 credits down the drain by degrading my car, any help on how to get it like everyone elses 1000HP+...PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!

DO NOT TUNE YOUR CAR BEFORE RACE MODIFYING IT.

There, as stated, you will lose all tunings and modifications you added to the car when you race modify it.

The max HP for that car, after race modification, is 905 HP.

Even at 694 hp it's probably faster than the normal one at 900hp.   But yeah, I just modded a car today myself (my 3rd one) so I know what I'm talking about when I tell you:  It gave you a warning when you selected Race Modification that you had to then select Yes or No before it actually does the RM.   That warning told you (not word for word) that you would lose all upgrades that you had done prior to the race modification.

that is specifically why i havent upgraded my Tuscan Speed 6 yet, i upgraded it completely before finding out that it was RM-able. All the RM cars I have (I think its 5 or 6 now) were bought fresh so as not to waste any money.

You are absolutly right and good advice for those that are not that far into the game.  A word to the wise...

if you've already tuned a car but not race modded it, it's likely cheaper just to buy a new one so you don't lose all the cash you spent on the tuning

you don't neeed a license to drive, you only need one to get pulled over.

If you installed all the upgrades before performing the race modification, they can all be reinstalled after the process. You don't lose them permanently, they are just uninstalled.

"Race Modified"?  What is that, some sort of special tuning that you get at the higher levels?  I haven't noticed this feature.

Go to GT Auto and it's the option all the way to the right.  It turns your car into a race car, but it only works on 17 cars in the game.

when you "race mod" the car, it cancels out all your mods. race mod the car first, then mod it in the tune shop.
