Wheel vs. Controller

46 replies 405 views Edited Sep 30, 2012

Do you have to use a wheel in order to be a good gt5 player? :/ cause it seems like when ever i do a season event and they expect me to get to get to first place from last in just 3 lap seems to A. difficult with a controller or B. impossible with a controller, am i just lacking in skill or do you need a wheel?

I like the wheel but I use both. There are some very fast controller drivers out there. On the American muscle challenge I have been using the controller.

No wheel is required, you can do it. Granted the seasonals have gotten tougher but once you master the liscences and special events it won't be a problem for you. There are some great debates on the subject somewhere on the forum, I can't find anything here anymore though. If you need some tips on setup just holler and someone is bound to respond.

Absolutely not!!!!!   I have the GT Drving Force racing wheel, but preffer a controller. I use both left/right sticks. Left for steering and the right one for accelerator/brake. I think it depends on what one is used to using.

It seems as though tuning has been more of a requirement lately.  7seconds a lap sounds less intimidating though.

I'm no expert either, but if you send a friend request I'll share the car I used to win the event. You could check it out and see if it helps.
