What is wrong with multiple versions of one model? It's not like they're taking up space that would otherwise be available for other cars, and if the modeling work is done (or most of it) it's also not a case of the duplicates taking up enough development time to prevent them from doing other cars.... so what's the problem, short of making it a bit difficult to sort through the garage.? More is good.
What is wrong with multiple versions of one model?
It's not the fact that there are multiple versions of just one model. What some people are put off by is the overwhelming preponderance of a few standout cars when, at the same time, other cars are not present at all.
This problem is addressed, more or less, not entirely directly, in the interview I linked, above. It is the most direct and up-to-date response to this question that we have, so far.
MastrGT, I appreciate the link to the interview. Your welath of GT5 knowledge I can remember for years and years on this board and in the PS community. I fade in and out and you are here, sure as the sun will rise tomorrow. Thank you, sir.
His sentence is partially true and also diamterically opposite of his actions with some of the Nissan 4 cylinder chassis'.
In GT2 on PS1, the Pulsar was rampant in Gran Turismo. The Pulsar VZR N1 was a hugely definitive moment for Nissan in the four cylinder industry and the car was dropped. Along with other variations of the Nissan.
Maybe it came down to Pulsar vs. Skyline, oh yes, more people will know the Skyline and not the Pulsar (opposite of his response).
Btw, I cannot believe they took out FIA-GT!!!!!!!
are you sure you have the "Small theater" or "large theater" setting on in your Options menu in GT5?
that single-handedly makes the cars sound much better, as there is more dynamic range potential.
that does not fix all cars, but for many it greatly improves them.
I still agree that PD needs to do a better job capturing exhaust notes, though.
as far high pitch whine, you're probably putting racing transmissions on everything and the whine is just that.

To make my GT racing more enjoyable to me, I would like to see the following....
1. 360 views
2. No more ancient vehicles from 1940's that I wouldn't use.
3. No more Japanese cars from the 60's, 70's or 80's.
4. More muscle cars.
5. More custom rims with different wheel sizes.
6. More freedom to create my own race course without built in templates or length restrictions.
7. Be able to purchase more HP and handling for any car with maybe a limit of 1000 hp per purchase.
8. No more standard cars.
9. Bring back the time lapse on endurance races, we shouldn't have to endure the whole 24 hours.
