VOTE # 2 CLOSED for The Essential GT Car List, NEXT VOTE SOON

[ Edited ]
95 replies 896 views Edited Sep 23, 2012

VOTING IS NOW CLOSED

It’s time for vote # 2 from The Essential GT Car List.  After the successful test vote using a select list of cars from the earlier wishlist, we will now be voting for cars on the new Essential GT Car List.   Please refer to that thread for more information on this project.

TO SUBMIT AN ELIGIBLE VOTE:

Please send a Private Message (PM) to user-id VoteforGTCars

In that PM include up to 10 different cars from the Starting Grid #2 shown below.

You can use the numbers in the left hand column to indicate which cars you wish to include in your vote.

All cars listed in your PM will receive one vote.

Voting for Starting Grid # 2 will be open until Friday August 24th, 5:00 pm EST.

We are using Private Messages for voting so that votes are not influenced by what cars are already receiving votes or by what other community members may think of your selections.

To access Private Messages, click on the Envelope icon at the top right next to the “Help” link.

RESULTS:

The ten cars that receive the most votes will be added to the Essential GT Car List Winners Circle.  It will be these cars along with the winners of all future votes that will promoted to Polyphony Digital as per the objective of the Essential GT Car List.

Any car that does not make the top ten, but receives at least two votes will remain in the Parking Lot and be eligible for future voting along with any nominations made after this post.

To help limit the number of cars in future votes to a manageable number, the cars that remain in the Parking lot but have the fewest votes are subject to exclusion from future voting.   This has no effect on the top ten finishers for this vote.

Just out of curiosity, do we have to send all (up to) 10 suggestions via one message?

I had a few in mind right off the bat, and wanted some time to fill in (if I will) the rest of my available slots.

Gojet-64 is now Encvell. (Gojet-64 is now only used for older games and Vita)

It's easier to manage if there is just get one message from each person.  There is plenty of time left to vote, so wait until you have decided on the others.

Re: VOTE # 2 The Essential GT Car List

The votes are coming in and already we have a clear leader, which so far has appeared on about 70% of all voters lists.

At the other end, there are quite a few cars yet to receive any votes.  Do even the original nominators not love them any more? Smiley Surprised

But still lots of time left to vote.

Thanks for the continuing support of those who have voted.

Re: VOTE # 2 The Essential GT Car List

Attention all voters in this, the 2nd round of the Vote el Grandes des Autos für das GT5 spiele.

I am putting this here as an open question to all voting...

I don't want to be accused of vote fraud, nor have it seem I'm trying to "skirt the rules"... But the cars in question are rather unique, and we already have an issue well known in the game already that makes one car rather useless for anything approaching any real racing dance partner. I would really hate to see one of these but not the other...

So, what I did was this, as quoted from my vote PM...:

.............

25 & 36 Are being submitted as ONE vote.

25 XB GT Falcon Coupe, #25 Ford 1976 Australia Aussie V8 history

36 LX Torana SS A9X Hatchback , Holden Dealer Team #05  Holden 1979 Australia Aussie V8 history

They are nearly a virtual "Yin & Yang" to each other.

Having just one would be almost as stupid as having the single Ford V8 Super Car we now have.

Also... Can we count the vote for #9 as 126 instead of just 1...?

................

I am asking for a stamp of approval as to whether it's a "legal" maneuver, or if it's just me wanting to make sure I could include Oz's nomination in my list of votes.

And no, I'm not attempting to brown nose or kiss buttockal region. As many already know, there's cake crumbs out front if you're that hungry... So hanging around Oz's backside is kind of pointless.

You can ignore the quip about car #9, although if I could get away with it I would in a heartbeat...

The conundrum is that should this be declared an "illegal" vote, please to notice that Oz's car is #11 and would be dropped from my list.

Given he's the Main Man Head Honcho Vote Tabulator Score Keeper El Grandes Mucho Deluxe, with BACON no less...!

It might be good if everyone be somewhat careful about how they word any negative responses...

As a friend of mine is fond of typing: "...just sayin..."  Smiley Wink

And yes, I'm just doing this to get this poor deprived thread some much needed attention.

Carry on...

Re: VOTE # 2 The Essential GT Car List

With regard to race cars in particular, the intent is to approach PD by saying something to the effect of, "hey the XYZ500SuperDooperGT#62 was voted #1, please put this car, along with some others from the same series, in the game".

By default, any vote for a race car should be considered as a vote for that series, as a vote for that car and some of it's competitors, so that they do have a "dance partner" or two or three.......

But of course that doesn't stop anybody from voting for both the Torana and the Falcon (or any other similar grouping) if they so desire, just to make sure.

Good point Dan, glad you mentioned it.   And yes, especially the bacon. Smiley Happy   And 126 votes have been recorded for your other choice.

I'm disappointed the 1955-1957 Ford Thunderbird didn't make the first cut but I have submitted my votes for round 2.

Thanks for the votes.  Don't forget that cars from the earlier wishlist that you feel strongly about, can always be renominated in the Essentials list for consideration in future votes.
