I suppose a G.I.F. is an appropriate response ot those who choose to particiate in R.I.F...

In regGARd to the 917 post...

For the sake of all that is Holy, and to let Oz keep what hair he has left...

PLEASE READ THE POSTING NOMINATION INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE YOU START TYPING..!!!

There.

All CAPS... Check.

In colors... Check.

Bold typeface... Check.

Extra BIG letters for the reading impaired... Check.

Underlined for emphasis... Check.

Italics considered slightly overkill..? Check.

Did you leave the oven on..? Might want to go check.

Do I honestly think it will help make the point more clearly understood..?

My severe doubts about it... Check.

I have secured the next meetings entertainment. It's a decent flick...

Re: The Essential GT Car List

Aug 26, 2012

Thank you again to those who are posting nominations as requested.   We are trying to be tolerant, tying to accomodate variations on a theme, but to be fair to all, and make this list easy to maintain, please please please could everybody post nominations in the format requested.

See the original post for more information.

Three easy parts:

1. A small list like this.

Manufacturer: Holden

Car: LX Torana SS A9X Hatchback , Holden Dealer Team #05 1979  (please put the year so we don't have to search for it)

Country: Australia

2. A picture.

3. An explanation of why you think it should be in the game.  A list of specs can be a useful addition but doesn't count as an explanation.

Without a reasonable attempt at #3 your nomination will not be added to the Parking Lot list.

Thank you to all for your cooperation.

How soon until the next round of voting?  Rather than start nominating more cars, I'd still like to rally for some already in the parking lot...

Several weeks, a few months.  Sort of depends on how many more cars get nominated and also giving some people a chance to get back in the game after Summer.

As for nominating more cars, my suggestion for EVERYBODY who is nominating cars, is to make sure you are nominating just the cars you really, really, really like, but not every car you like.  Don't want to flood the market you know.  Just a suggestion.

No prob, advice heeded.  Will try to keep it to the existing list.  There may be one or two more that may come from the old wish list thread--but don't worry, it would be a car that I really, really, really like.  Smiley Wink  With the exceptions of one cinema hero, and the "cars that could have been," I've tried to make sure all my nominations have been cars with provenance, with proven race history & wins to their credit--some with overall championships.

Have no fear, all nominations I may make will only be for a car that will stand up to objective scrutiny of its worthiness; a car that will have had some kind of impact/influence on racing or car culture in general.  Rest assured: you will not see me nominate a car "just cause it's cool, duh-huh..."
