The Go-Package option was available with the four-barrel 343 or 390 engines, and continued to include disc brakes, "Twin-Grip" (limited slip) differential, red-line performance E70x14 tires on "Magnum 500" styled wheels, heavy-duty suspension with thicker sway-bars, and other enhancements. Starting in January 1969, four-speed manual transmissions came with a Hurst floor shifter.
Historical Signifigance, & Track Presence:
American Motors entered the Javelin in dragstrip and Trans-Am Series racing. In January 1968 Kaplan Engineering began preparing two cars for that year's 12 Hours of Sebring, the Javelin's first Trans-Am race. Engines were prepared by Traco Engineering, who bored out the basic 290 cu in (4.8 L) V8 to 304.3 cu in (4.99 L). Ronnie Kaplan recalled that "... we never had enough time to properly develop the Javelins because of our time factor and most of our testing and development took place at the race track. 36 cars of the 68 cars finished, with Peter Revson and Skip Scott driving one of the Javelins to 12th overall and 5th in the O-class, a "remarkable" performance considering the program was initiated so quickly.
American Motors placed third in the over-2-liter class of the 1968 series, and established a record as the only factory entry to finish every Trans-Am race entered.
Heritage:
AMC debuted the Javelin in 1967 as a 1968 Model, as an entry into the Pony Car market. Built on the Rambler American's chassis, but with a Muscle Car body & a Semi-Fastback Roofline, the 1968 AMC Javelin was ahead of it's time with Exterior Side Marker Lights, 3-Point Seat Belts, & Headrests on the Seats.
Driving Fun Factor:
With the 390 C.I. V8 & the "Go-Package", the Javelin SST made 315 HP, 425 LB-FT. Torque.
Plenty of power & good handling for a Pony Car would make It Fun to Drive.
Collectability:
AMCs are not as common as GM, Ford, & Mopar cars from the same period, but Came in many variants & Colors.
Key Fill for a Particular Series:
AMC Javelins were raced in Trans-Am, without a Failure of any kind on their cars.

What I think Gran Turismo really needs is a responsive and fun to drive car from the sub compact class. The current alternatives in the game are not engaging and slow.
I feel this would be an extremely popular car as there is a massive audience who love mazdas and love to tune them.

it comes with more power and more aero from original car.
the race version had 275hp and weighed 850kg, which meant it did 0-96kmp/h in 3secs.
It's great to see various concept cars being nominated, here.
PD hasn't been giving us that many, lately.
I would also like to see more lurkers get involved with the Essentials nominating and voting for both cars and tracks. If somebody doesn't know where to start, just read the rules at the top and look through the old car wish list for ideas. Take your time and put together your nomination well. If you truly want to see a car in GT, make it count. If one hundred lurkers or more did this and voted each month, we / you would be putting a lot more meaningful weight behind this process.
