Manufacturer: Ford

Model and Year(s): Mustang BOSS (includes 302, 351, and 429) 1969-1970

Race Series or Class if relevant: Boss 302: Trans Am series

Country of Origin (some may be considered international):USA

A classic example of ford muscle, and the story behind the 429 is most interesting as it was only used for homolagation purposes so ford could use the 429 in NASCAR.

also another one

Manufacturer: Pontiac

Model and Year(s): Firebird Trans Am GTA (1987-1992)

Race Series or Class if relevant: N/A

Country of Origin (some may be considered international):USA

This Generation of firebirds is often forgotton, however they were still very popular at the time, and the L-98 (TPI) engine introduced in 1987 along with the GTA helped meld handeling, power and luxury into a sleek package.

I'd like to see the Jaguar XJ-S. This much maligned car was made for 20 years as Jaguar's flagship. It replaced the E Type and preceded the XK8, both of which made the game. I believe the reason people didn't like was purely because it  WASN'T and E Type.

Can this car be a racer........ you decide after you watch this......http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9I7GWllPFY

The Essential GT Car List

Jul 12, 2012

Just to remind everyone:

Make sure your suggestions are in the correct format! Otherwise, they will not be accepted into the Parking Lot. Check page 1 for an example.

Also, make sure you get your caps-lock button looked at. We don't take people seriously if their caps-lock button doesn't function properly.

Gojet-64 is now Encvell. (Gojet-64 is now only used for older games and Vita)

Re: The Essential GT Car List

OK Folks I'm not giving up. I think that the car's used by the GT Academy class of 2011 and back, should be in the game right now.

An folks it's not so much as the cars wanted., it's the paint jobs. An just having ta paint job that looks like this on the R34., (NOT GOOD ENOUGH).

For the most part the car's were sport tuned.

GT Academy '10 370Z Trial car.

GT Academy '10 Skyline GT-R (R35) Trial car.

Gran Turismo GT-R (R34) In game sport/race car.

An to answer these questions about both cars...

Manufacturer: Nissan Motors.

Model and Year(s): 2010 versions

Race Series or Class if relevant:  Test Trials for GT Academy Contestants.

Country of Origin (some may be considered international): Japan, City of Tokyo.

Include a picture (please not too big): Four photos shown.

Cars should be as manufactured or raced.  No personal modifications.: Shown!

Include a link to more detailed information if relevant.:  http://us.gran-turismo.com/us/academy/2011/

Write a brief and sensible explanation that would help justify its inclusion.  You should make reference to any of the following that are relevant. (typed above first photo)

Historical Significance: Since the first GT Academy it has brought more serious attention to the franchise!

Heritage: The heritage is ritch as they are apart of the Gran Turismo family league.

Driving Fun Factor: It would be fun to drive the cars the guys get to drive for real.

Does the car fill a gap in the list of cars currently in the game? Yes as I stated there the real cars used in GT Academy Trials.

Is the car desirable to collectors? Yup!!

Would the car be at home on the racing track? Yupppp! (You can see that in the photos).

Is the car of particular importance to a racing series? Yes and I have stated that!!

Does your car belong to an identifiable category such as (but not limited to) Vintage, Classic, Art, Concept, or Truck? No and these car's are owned and apart of the grate Gran Turismo Franchise.  (An truly need to be in the game Gran Turismo 5)

Re: The Essential GT Car List

Since no one has included it yet, I will nominate the Shelby Daytona Coupe:

Manufacturer: Shelby American

Model and Year(s): 1964-1965

Race Series or Class: GT Class

Country of Origin: USA

250px-Shelby_Daytona,_1964.jpg

For more detailed information go to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shelby_Daytona

This is one of the top cars of all time.  In 1964-1965, it won a remarkable string of races in the GT Class, including LeMans, Sebring, Daytona, and the Italian, German and French Grand Prix.

In contrast with the insanely overpowered 427 Cobra already in the game, this car was powered by the 289 engine, which should make for much better handling and control and should make this car a blast to drive.

I would suggest that the reproduction be based on the first production model (painted in Viking Blue) since that won many of the early races and beat out Ferrari for the World Manufacturers Championship.

I think I speak for 80% of the GT5 community when I say that this car should be an Automatic shoe in and included on EVERY submitted list to PD until it makes it into the game. IMHO, it is THE definitive GT car and no game that takes itself seriously should be without it. It holds one of the highest honors and was one of the most successful cars run by an American team ever in GT history, and aside from the the GT 40's of the late 60's is probably the one of the single most historically relevant racing machines ever run.

You can count on this receiving at least 1 steer committee vote, even though it cost me 20 GT bucks. I picked it as one of the first cars to get nominated in the betting pool.

I am also a strong proponent of getting the GULF livery #6 GT 40 done as a Premium Car, and of making an RM version available that can be painted and numbered to be run as a privateer team in endurance events at Sarthe, Daytona Road and the N Ring.

Oz, I believe this particular car should be automatic and just go to the top of the submit list now instead of holding a spot another car of lesser pedigree back that the community may want to see. Just my opinion, but I know I'm not alone in it.

And now I have to go stand in the corner again for opining in the nomination thread... Cat Sad

we are only alowed a few cars at the most before the voting process takes place.  i chose the car that i wanted to see the most, not every car that i could think of off the top of my head.  if you are posting alot of cars then that means that you are not going to be taken sreiously and that your nominations will be viod.  some of you are posting with great format, but just posting like 10 cars.  some are posting cars just to be posting a car suggestion without any information about the car or reason that you think the car should be in the game.

this is why i wish you could delete posts on a thread that you start.

The aim is to get people to make an effort and really think about the cars they would most like to see.  There are some to be added to the list from people who have nominated several cars, but they have done their bit to follow the rules as best they can.  Other multi-posters will be ignored.

To be fair, the OP does indicate you can nominate more than one or two.  We just don't want a flood.
