Re: Seasonal Events: World Classic Car series

[ Edited ]

So I have reports for 3 tracks here and I'll start with Madrid.

I saw where Suby_Greg was having success with the 300 SL Coupe '54 at Rome so I thought I'd try it at Madrid and the results were pretty good. I hadn't used this car since the Classic car seasonal race at Nurburgring(1 lap) and I'd always enjoyed it. I've managed to whittle the pp down to 410 against the Lotus Elan.(AI ~ 5:18.xxx)

Madrid

425pp - 770,000cr (PDA-462,000)  xp-77,000 (PDA-46,200)

410pp - 862,400cr (PDA-554,400)  xp-86,240 (PDA-55,440)

Next up is Eiger where I used an old friend in the Alfa TZ2. Here is a tune crafted by:johof1234

Alfa Giulia TZ2 by johof1234

LSD - 9/38/15

Height - (-22,-21)

SPR - 6.6,7.2

EXT - 7,7

Comp - 6,6

Roll - 5,5

Camb - 1.8,1.4

Toe - (- 0.15,0.06)

BB - 6,5

First I used it at Cote D'Azur where it seemed like a natural at 425pp and it was a pleasure to drive but it wasn't going to catch my 375pp in the Z28..So nimble and sure footed this one.Anyways it was on to Eiger as I said so I drew the Elan again which I'm guessing is the "Goldilocks" car. Not too fast and not too slow. It will finish, I think, just north of 6:42ish. I started at 450pp and worked down to 430pp so I don't know if the TZ2 is going to be the fastest car for this one. If I just spent say an hour on just one race I'm sure all my pp levels would drop but I'm impatient with losing so I sometimes move on too quickly to the next race.

Eiger

450pp - 688,000cr (PDA-344,000) xp - 74,800 (PDA-37,400)

440pp - 756,800cr (PDA-412,800) xp - 82,280 (PDA-44,880)

435pp - 791,200cr (PDA-447,200) xp - 86,020 (PDA-48,620)

430pp - 825,000cr (PDA-481,600) xp - 89,760 (PDA-52,360)

Last up was Eifel. Just curious does anyone recognize this course? Kei car seasonals back when triple payouts were first introduced you could win 315,xxxcr for 3 laps in 3 minutes. Ring a bell yet?. Once I recognized the course my times just plummeted. Still buckled up in the the TZ2 here. Was up against its brother, the Giulia GTA '65 (~5:21.xxx)

Eifel

450pp - 800,000cr (PDA-400,000) xp - 69,200 (PDA-34,600)

435pp - 920,000cr (PDA-520,000) xp - 79,580 (PDA-44,980)

425pp -1,000,000cr (PDA-600,000) xp-86,500 (PDA-51,900)

Still having fun and still looking for other candidates as well...Good Luck!...:smileyhappy:

Re: Seasonal Events: World Classic Car series

I dusted off my historic race car collection, did some serious tuning and alternated between the '67 Ferrari 330 P4 and the '66 Jaguar XJ13 and had a blast.....the Monaco race was over by lap 3.....Ferrari versus Ginetta was a blast.......was the only race where the Ginetta showed up.....

Re: Seasonal Events: World Classic Car series

I'm stuck at home with the dog today so i'm running some races in this series. I just finished up at Rome and here are my results:

I used the 69 corvette tuned to 394PP with 164Hp and 1457Kg

1,170,000 Cr (PDA 794,999) / 126,047 Xp (PDA 85,647)

Thats a pretty nice pay day for about 7mins 41seconds of racing!

If two eyes are better than one, then I guess I’m S#!T outta luck!

Back again with more news. If you can't beat 'em...Join 'em right? I think this will help rekindle interest in this series just a little as I've found my go-to car and it's the Mazda Cosmo. Both the '67 and the '68 with the same set-up will do the trick for low pp values across the series, even more so if you avoid the Ginetta on pole and if you can find the AI's Cosmo down the depth chart as I've seen it win from 4th place. Here's an awesome tune from XDesperado67 (Outlaw Motorsports Garage-Not from this site)

Mazda Cosmo L10A '67  by XDesperado67

Height - (-15,-25)

spr - 10.3,5.6

ext - 5,5

comp - 3,3

roll - 4,4

bb - 6,8

camb - 1.2,1.4

toe - (-0.16,0.20)

lsd - 16,48,8

If your aim is to start with high pp values and then work down then only add parts that are removeable and don't even think about a wing!...lol. I will say that this car is an acquired taste and is not for everyone.  You must be very gentle with the braking into corners as it likes to slide through them and you can then get on the throttle early on the way out.

I've never had so much fun on comfort tires.

Last big tip here before I put up some digits. Use the diving line!... For real. You'll be amazed at when and where you'll be asked to brake with these tires. It's not going to be gospel but it's a good indication and it'll help you out if you're struggling.

Okay, numbers time.

Madrid - 387pp  1,004,080cr (PDA-696,920)  xp-100,408 (PDA-69,608) - Cosmo L10B '68

Eiger - 400pp  1,032,000cr (PDA - 688,000)  xp-112,200 (PDA-74,800) -      "         "       "

Monaco -370pp 1,645,200cr (PDA -1,188,200)  xp- 164,880 (PDA-119,080) - Cosmo L10A '67

Rome - 380pp  1,275,000cr (PDA - 900,000)  xp- 137,360 (PDA-96,960) -         "          "       "

Eifel - 375pp  1,400,000cr (PDA - 1,000,000)  xp- 121,100 (PDA-86,500) -         "          "       "

Good Luck...:smileyhappy:

Re: Seasonal Events: World Classic Car series

I finally went back to finish these - just to finish them.

And stubornly decided to tame the bull.

I actually have a decent tune for the Miura - with ABS 1 anyway, I still can't keep that backend behind me without 1 point to save my life.

I have three of the events so far, but with Rome and the custom left, I do not forsee much problem now with the Lambo.  If it'll win the first three, the others should not be a problem...  I hope...

Keep up the great work posting these Online Events, and generating instructions and ideas. I feel that this is an excellent addition to the Forum, and adds much value. It also gives an easily searchable spot for those doing, about to do, and done with these events to post their input. Thanks again. I really appreciate it , personally. It has helped a great deal in my efforts to complete these events.

Re: Seasonal Events: World Classic Car series

I did it with my trusty 69 z28, tuned from when it was in fogeys but cut engine power down and won with a good lead.
