See the tune listed on my post on page 2. This should help. You can add as much HP to increase the PP level as needed up to the maximum.

Re: Seasonal Events Honda Civic Race!

Interesting thing happened last night with this event.  I raced the first 3 tracks without issue and started running the Clubman reverse.  After I ran the race the first time, I collected my credits and tried to go right back into the race without exiting.  I received a "Rule Breach" and could not run the race as my car had magically gained 1 pp and was now at 416.

Then I "had" to tune the car putting parts on to make up for the fact that I had to decrease overall power to enter the race at 415pp.  It didn't do this just once either!  I don't know how it happens that you can run a race and your car gains hp from one race to the next.  Every time I was within 2 seconds of the leader and I tried to reenter the race... "Rule Breach"

It was highly annoying.  Smiley Tongue

Does this happen often?  Is it restricted to just this event?

If you're using a new car(less than 200 or so miles on it), the engine is not broken in yet.

First thing to do with a brand new car, is change the oil, and let a B-spec driver, or yourself race it for a good 200+ miles.

During the beak-in period, it will increase in HP/PP. After the magic 200 mark, you'll actually start losing HP/PP.

Then go change the oil again & you'll be at max HP/PP.

P.S. -

After the initial breakin, after alot of miles, sometimes it's better to perform the Engine Rebuild instead of the oil change. This will often give back more HP than a simple oil change would depending on the milage, etc.

Is the break-in period 200 miles or 300 miles?

GT has always had this engine break-in function.

Just the details change every now and then.

When you rebuild the engine apparently the oil is replaced, too.

I had forgotten completely about that!  It does make sense.  One of the keys to winning at Clubman for me was not applying the breaks in places you normally would.  If the car is set up correctly, you can get away with lifting off the throttle to make some of those turns and you need every fraction of a second to win this one.  (at least I did!)  I ended up taking 1st by 0.024.  Which means I still haven't gotten the "win by 0.001"

200. Some cars SLIGHTLY less or more, but 200 will be almost all of breakin if not completely all.

I say slightly more because I have seen at least one car gain a point or two of torque after reaching maximum HP.

This was in my old Tuning Tome that kinda got abandoned when I had my little hospital stay a number of months ago.

Guess I need to see about getting back on that now.

I did get better... Smiley Happy

Ah, OK. It was probably GT4 that had the higher break-in period, then.
