It’s time to get started on the Community Voting process for The Essential GT Car List.  We are getting an interesting set of nominations in that thread and we hope that will continue to grow.  Please continue to post the cars that you would most like to see added to the game (following the guidelines of course).

However, to get the voting started we are going to do something to recognize the effort that was put into the earlier GT5 Car Wishlist, so that those suggestions are not entirely forgotten.  For the first votes we have compiled a list of notable cars that were nominated in that Wishlist thread.

This first vote will not only enable us to carry over some of the earlier worthwhile nominations, but will serve as a testing process for the Voting method.

We would like to especially thank Dan-Zitions for his assistance in compiling these legacy lists from the GT5 Car Wishlist.

TO SUBMIT AN ELIGIBLE VOTE:

Please send a Private Message (PM) to user-id VoteforGTCars

In that PM include up to 5 different cars from the GT5 Car Wishlist Starting Grid #1 shown below.

The order of the list does not matter.  All cars listed in your PM will receive one vote.

If your PM includes more than five cars or the same car is shown more than once or you add other cars not shown in the list below, your votes will not be counted.

Voting for Starting Grid # 1 will be open until Wednesday August 1st, 5:00 pm EST.

We are using Private Messages for voting so that votes are not influenced by what cars are already receiving votes or by what other community members may think of your selections.

To access Private Messages, click on the Envelope icon at the top right next to the “Help” link.

RESULTS:

The five cars that receive the most votes will be added to the Essential GT Car List Winners Circle.  It will be these cars along with the winners of all future votes that will promoted to Polyphony Digital as per the objective of the Essential GT Car List.

My vote on this one is for the 2009-2010 Jaguar XF Touring Car Racer. I think that's the one that I would like to see the most from that list.

To make sure it is included in future votes you could always nominate it in the Essential Car list thread (following guidelines of course) Smiley Wink

All things being equal I did read the OP and saw this,"However, to get the voting started we are going to do something to recognize the effort that was put into the earlier GT5 Car Wishlist, so that those suggestions are not entirely forgotten.  For the first votes we have compiled a list of notable cars that were nominated in that Wishlist thread."

So I assumed I was covered as I posted the Pantera in that thread. FWIW the Pantera never had much of a racing history so I felt wierd about puting it up with those that did. I KNOW you see where Im coming from. Smiley Very Happy

BTW, I also noticed the Porsche in the OP. Curious.

Will have to give that further thought.  Probably just add all 5th place finishers if it's only two or three.

Or we might get the America's Got Talent judges to choose between them.

Either that or the toss of hub cap.  Smiley Wink

I see where you're coming from.  With regard to Porsche, it was decided that "Dead Horses" are fair game in this project, so as to send an organised message to PD (if they get the votes) rather than just the endless beating that used to happen.
