Welcome to the GT forum, TrademarkTM!

Whenever you have a problem like this, you need to determine if your game is corrupted or if your progress file is corrupted. At this point, it may be your progress file that is causing problems, but I am not certain yet.

Read through this help post and try to determine what you need to do.

Blu ray player doesn't seem to be at fault, played a few Blu ray movies to test.

All updates went smoothly.

No scratches on disk.

Total file size 9081mb currently on v2.07

Just because you didn't see any update problems does not mean that you don't have one. Smiley Wink

You may have to re-install more than once.

If I were you, I'd backup my gamesave file to a usb thumbdrive, then delete the original gamesave from the ps3. Then try to start the game up (with all game updates installed), but with a fresh start with no cars, etc. (no gamesave on the system). If it runs properly, then I'd say you had a corrupt gamesave file & you'll have to continue on with your new "fresh" gamesave.

If that doesn't work, then your gamesave might be good, & you'll probably have to try re-installing the game data/updates again. (Like MastrGT said, sometimes it takes multiple times to work)

One tip: When updating, try to use a wired internet connection. While it's never happened to me, I've heard that wireless sometimes ends up resulting in corrupted data, etc.

i have a sharp flat screen that does the same thing. I have to hit the input button three or four times to cycle back to the HDMi. I just thought it was my TV going bad. Sometimes when I hit the power button nothing happens, won't turn on or off, and aslo sometimes when I use the volume up button my input changes. I just figured I need new TV never once thought is was the game.

How does one remove the Install from the hard drive or is it the same as deleting game data

Correct. You do it through the XMB.

As a precaution, back up your progress file, if you haven't already.

Back up and running now, had to remove/delete everything. Reinstalled updates with wired connection directly to modem. Lost all my previous play time but haven't played in a long while so I guess I'll just deal with it, at least it works.
