Gt Academy 2012

The new format in the NA GT Academy 2012 is intriguing and deserves some discussion. The fact that 6 people are gone in the very first session is amazing!

http://www.spike.com/full-episodes/jlkx60/nissan-gt-academy-victory-is-anyones-season-1-ep-101

1. Were the decisions to eliminate so many this quickly well thought out and part of the plan?

2. Is a smaller field set up to give more detailed training to each competitor?

3. Which of the changes in the 2012 GT Academy do you like or dislike?

4. Are there any competitor remaining who should clearly be gone?

5. Of the 6 people gone, who should still be in the race?

  a. Jeff Lund #35

  b. Joseph Alves #25

  c. Ed Gomes #32

  d. Rees Gould #33

  e. Darren Guiao #34

  f. Darwin Albano #24

Let's have a great discussion without this turning ugly.

I do not like this elimination Format for GT Academy. It should be a proper series races and events. All 16 should be there from beginning to end. All events should count unlike the first season, and if they don't count they should be tested on it. Each position should earn them points just like a real race, and the winner is the one with the most points.

I will not watch season two since its still a Survivor show.

It's still that Big Brother style "(un)Reality" show format like the previous one? That's a shame, I missed the first show the other day but was going to DVR the rest, good thing I hadn't set it up yet.

I can't believe they kept Eric Revera!! That kid seems to have a hard time functioning in the real world. Fitness is a huge part of racing, so how could he possibly make a Professional race driver?

I watched the first episode last night. They were a bit harsh, apparently the judges aren't playing around.

I felt bad for the dude that went on the off-road excursion, ganked a big chip out of the rim, and got kicked to the curb. The other guy who "felt like a god" probably did not feel excatly like that as he was packing his bags to go home.

Very interesting all in all. Go RackAttack ( Jeff Stuart )

Spoiler alert:

Well, we are down to the serious part of the competition. There haven't been any huge surprises yet with competitors being sent home. Several guys have impressed me in a particular exercise, but none more than Jett and Jeff! Those two guys have the whole package. Speed, precision and fitness in spades! Go Jett_Racer and RackAttack!

Spoiler alert:

The "Mud Meyhem" challenge might have been enjoyable to watch if it didn't take 2 teammates and an instructor to finally get Eric over a 6ft wall! That was painful to watch, yet through it all Eric shows he has some talent driving!

Wow, 2 racers gone in one episode! Everyone is bringing their game now, minus a few issues with nerves.

Spoiler alert:

One shocker last episode was finding out Jeff (RackAttack) was on the bubble! That one surprised me as he has always been at or near the top of every timed event. I guess his slow braking time put him on the radar for a judge or two!
