Gran Turismo 5 = "QUANTITY OVER QUALITY"

13 replies 17 views Edited Dec 1, 2010

What was polyphony thinking when they decided to port over 800 cars from GT4? Instead spend that time polishing graphics, menus, online etc.  They should have never included 800 PS2 cars and just had 200-300 premium cars with most realistic damage to date and fans wouldn't be complaining about having no cockpit view for their cars or mediocre damage etc.  Lets hope for GT 6 they don't port them over again.

Lets hope there is a GT6 period. GT5 is not selling well and is at the limits of what the PS3 can handle.

They are definitely selling GT5 really well.  I don't know what your talking about.  Maybe low compared to Call Of Duty, but racing games have never, and probably will never sell as many games as FPS titles like it.  Also, so what, they gave us "PS2 quality cars" (they are definitely better looking than any of the GT4 cars I've ever seen), at least they gave them to us, instead of holding them back.  I'd rather have cars I can DRIVE, than cars I can't.

The inclusion (or exclusion) of the 800+ standard cars probably had little to no bearing on which premium cars made it into the game.  The premium modeling is time consuming and would most likely never be done for many of the standard cars.  They'll introduce more premium models with time.  I'd rather have the current line up than just just the current premium lineup minus all the standard cars.  If you don't like the standard models, avoid using them.  I personally like variety.
