Re: GT5's "Quirks, Bugs and Glitches" thread

Indeed. Thanks for the photos, it's interresting.

It has to be your installed game. I doubt seriously it's the save game data since damage in not stored there. Why would it be, damage does not carry over from one race to, well, anything else. As we have said, damage automatically goes away when ending a race.

Backup your save file. It should be good.

You need to reinstall at least the cache. Try that first, before reinstalling the game and updates.

On another note, I have never seen cars with that much damkage... Interresting.

Please let us know what fixed it, as soon as you get it fixed. Good luck with it.

The more I look at the pics, I have to agree with ya dm. Definitely an install issue. Damage never looks THAT extreme.

It's interesting that the Ford GT's have the exact same damage.

So I should
1. Backup save file
2. Reinstall cache and test
3. if needed, reinstall whole game + updates

Thanks for the response everyone. I am a bit out of touch with the PS3 and GT5 as you probably guessed. Shame that these problems come up on PS3. I never had any problems in all my ps one and ps2 years except the odd game freeze.

When a car takes damage, is it normal for the body to become like jelly and move around the whole time? Also on the first impact in B-Spec the damage didn't occur instantly as I would expect. The car just slowly morphed into a ridiculous blob due to a light tap on a wall. I hope this isn't normal.

Right.

No, not by any means normal. I'm afraid your damage module in the code is getting creative, and buggy...

Please let us know what fixes it.

Not a important bug to fix but here's what I found.

in practice free run, your best lap arrow on the map goes off track and out to middle of no where, seems like it happens more on DAYTONA, it has happened on other tracks like trail moutain. it is happening so often its almost everytime.

That is not normal, Andy55411. Unless more players report that they also have that oddity, my guess is that the problem is at your end.

Haven't noticed it 'every time' I'm in practice, but I get an arrow seemingly randomly placed on my map when the ghost lap finishes ahead of me.

Different thing: the plain black driver-blob from GT4 is still present in the Ford Taurus and can best be seen in garage and GTAuto.

Update on my damage glitch: I reinstalled the game and it seems fine so far. I'm now in the process of updating to v2.10. Hopefully it does not do the same as last time. Will keep you posted.
