I would check your hp/tq curves. It's not always only about peak power output. It's about maxing the area under the curve in the usable power band that will give you the best results.
Problem: After purchasing the '00 Renault Clio V6 from the dealership the game has been freezing at almost every load screen in which the "GT" logo appears. ... WHY was the game working fine BEFORE I purchased this particular car?
I purchased and used this car without incident, so your problem is not based solely on the car.
Problem: After purchasing the '00 Renault Clio V6 from the dealership the game has been freezing at almost every load screen in which the "GT" logo appears. This was annoying the first time, but I thought nothing of it because all games freeze occasionally. Well, the problem has gotten worse and is now making it almost impossible to play the game. I'm lucky if I get to the start menu with GT mode, Arcade, Course Maker, etc. If I do get that far the cursor will not show up on the screen and I'm stuck there and am forced to quit the game and try again. WHY was the game working fine BEFORE I purchased this particular car?
MastrGT, it seems you're correct, it isn't the car that is doing it. Even after selling the car my game disc keeps on freezing up during loading; it's rather inconsistent so I can't really narrow it down at this point as to what is causing it. However, I do know it isn't the the system itself because I can press the PS button and quit the game. Is anyone else experiencing these problems? I haven't seen or read of this particular issue yet, other than what I've been experiencing. Maybe it's my copy of the disc, but I did inspect the disc for scratches or defects and there aren't any that I can see. I'm assuming the only thing I can do is wait for the release of an update in the future?
