GT5 and Ebay....

11 replies 9 views Edited Dec 16, 2010

I was surfing E Bay for Christmas gifts and looked at the GT 5 listings and was stunned to see people selling cars like the Formula GT and the X-1 for 40.00 and above.....I geuss that's the state of the game for some people but **bleep**....you buy the game and you should feel the thrill of winning the car for yourself.....but that's how some people roll....want it all without working for it.

I have been perusing those listings too. I was most interested in trying to get the other stealth models so I could have the set. The main problem I found was that the sellers were only offering to email you a code. I would want the un-molested card that contains the code. Otherwise, all of these sales smell of a opportunity to get ripped off. Pay your money and they send you a used code which is worthless, no thanks.

To the point though, I just can't see myself paying for something already in the game, just my thoughts.

I dont know what's worse....being the type of short-cut taker to BUY advanced cars and miss out on earning them

or

being the **bleep** who is selling their achievements to those who are too lazy to earn it themselves.

Free Market enterprise.

remember, next time you see a X-1 driving by you, or a F1 car...the person behind the wheel might not be any better than a rookie/first timer playing the game....they just decided to buy cars instead of hone their skills and earn them.

that's a bad as people buying trophies off ebay that say WINNER and making their own plaque for it to display them.

what someone needs to do is do a massive game save and then GIVE IT AWAY on the net to completely destroy the value of the cars being sold.

a good man once sent me a memory card of a game save on PS2 of GT4 with just about every car imaginable and 88% completion(just some special challenges omitted).

it was fun as hell to go drive those cars....but did i feel like a winner?

No....I felt like PS2/GT4 was now just "arcade mode" and A-SPEC mode was abolished.

I'll laugh when someone saves their game on a flash drive/SDD or whatever, and then starts sending copies to anyone who wants ALL the cars/glory...for free.

that'll deflate the "market for prized cars'

They should just put the CE/Stealth/Special cars for "sale" on the PSN network, I'd buy them. (1$ each).
