That's right.  Once I set the room parameters, you will be able to see the car under your garage.  You can see it at any time, plus the other cars from the recommended garage, by going to the "Recommended" tab (On the bottom left) when viewing your garage in the online lobby.

I look forward to the race today.  We are finally going to be in some fast cars, which I think everyone has been dying for.

I thought I saw it in a dealership somewhere (I'd need more cash, anyway), but without the car in my garage, it is difficult to get some practice in, so I will try to show up early.
