Engine swap

29 replies 369 views Edited Jul 10, 2012

GT5 should have there very own engine swap system. It would make races more competitive especially honda drag reaces online. With the engine swap people would be able to change motors for honda, nissan, etc. Also im thinking that with the motor swap system many online drag races would be very happy.

I dont get it.

You wanna take a motor out of something and put it in something else? Say motor out of a Integra to use in a Civic? Why not just race the Integras? How can it get more competetive than using the same car w/ the same mods? Same PP too. Then it just comes down to tune and driver skill.

I must be missing something........................

You aren't missing anything.

Engine swaps are just one of those things on a wish list that some people think are good, but don't really mean anything in GT.

Engine swaps are good for making sleepers, but drag racing is supposed to be between similar cars, so that sort of defeats the purpose, right of the bat. With PP limits, as you said, you then get down to slighter differences and subtleties between the cars, tunes and drivers, which is good.

GT allows tuning cars within more real limits, so engine swaps aren't really necessary. You aren't going to put a V8 in a Mini and get away with it.

Imagine if it was possible... I'd put the x2010 engine in the Tank car!!! That would be fun!!!!

Please PD give us Endurance races. 24 minutes is not enough...

Just because that may be possible does not really mean that it would be fun.

Power is only good if you can control it.

A rocket that can't turn is not fun.

And just because you can't see or find the potential fun doesn't mean there isn't any.

Fair enough, and I understand that, too.

Still doesn't mean it's worthy of GT.

Smiley Very Happy

Agreed. I really don't see the point of an engine swap, with PP limits, though I thank you for the idea for my next signature.

Reminds me of the old Monster Motorsports (methinks thats the name) Miatas that had Ford 5.0s in them. Hmmm.

Yeah, ummm, please no engine swaps PD. Just concentrate on TT2 now. Smiley Happy

If a suggestion can be "finished" by adding the words "just like F*rza" you know it may or may not be an idea worthy of the GT series...

This one fits that. Smiley Happy
