We've already seen people go a lap down in some of the demos. They get  the blue flag waived at them and get smashed in to, but they haven't turned in to ghost yet.

Looks to be the tire wear display for B-Spec to advise when your driver should come in to the pit.

Yes, that's what the white tires are, but the black suspension, transmission and engine also stand out.

You know, I was thinking that was the transmission, transaxle style, but you're right. If you look really close at the engine, it looks like there is a line between the engine and the (traditional) transmission.
