Being able to put a hold or a down payment on a car in the UCD or OCD

I have seen so many people mad at the fact that you see a car in the UCD or OCD and by the time they earn enough money to buy it, its gone. Maybe PD could have an update for being able to put a hold or downpayment on a car until you can pay it off. Lets face it, some cars don't come around very often.

I like this idea. Maybe a percentage of around 35-40 % of the total?

Ditto, at least for the Used car dealer. The Online dealer doesn't refresh as often, so I'm not as concerned about that one.

Re: Being able to put a hold or a down payment on a car in the UCD or OCD

With the ability to have 20,000,000 in your own personal credits, as well as being able to have all 6 drivers have an additional 20,000,000 EACH stored in their accounts whilst shared, you can theoretically have 140,000,000 credits stored up at all times.

There's NO car in GT5, whether new, used, or otherwise that costs more than 20,000,000, so all you'd have to do is use one (or more) of your drivers as a "Car Savings Account" and never actually cache them in for their credits until you see that car that you want, and need to cache them in to make enough credits to buy it.

The only time the UCD is cycled, is whenever you enter an event, so if you go into the UCD, see a vehicle you want, it's NOT going to dissapear when you exit out of the dealership, go to your drivers list, cache them in, then go back.

The OCD is normally only refreshed when PD puts up new Seasonal events, so that gives you a little bit more leeway.

NCD is sometimes updated with a game update, but I've never seen anything removed from it, just added.

If you're having trouble getting one of your shared drivers up to 20,000,000, see the thread in my signature.

Yea, back when I was going for every car in game, it took me forever to get the Chaperalls from the ucd. But now, like lil guard dog stated, I just cash in my drivers when I need some cash. I have to give mad props to my friends for racing my bobs, especially MATTCLK. :smileyhappy:

SWERV: I'm interested in that Pescarolo Judd GV5 over there, but I'm a little short on credits right now....

UCD Salesman: We'd love to get you into it, whaddya got on ya??

SWERV: I'm about  a cool Million shy of the price today, Could ya hold it for me if I ,say, put half down now?

UCD Salesman: I dunno, we've got a few other guys looking at it besides you.:smileywink:

SWERV: C'Mon, Bro. I'll tighten you up when I get my settlement. I've got plenty of good friends running my Bobs, I'm good for it , Bro.:catsurprised:

UCD Salesman: OK, I see that ScreamingWheels, DaletonaDave, Lil_Guard_Dog, BlackhawkBlues, audioinstaller, and others have been regularly racing your guys. We'll hold it for ya, no probs, M8.:catlol:

SWERV: Sweeeeeeeet:catvery-happy:

Re: Being able to put a hold or a down payment on a car in the UCD or OCD

It's an interesting idea and has been offered in the past. At one time, I was a real fan of the idea, because I was still down in the lower levels and wished I could afford a 12 million credit car from the UCD to complete a series (the 60s supercar I *think..whatever, the one that people use the 66 jag, Chapparel, etc to win). Eventually., I just moved on and kept racing until I had enough cash to buy what I wanted directly from the dealership.

I suspect they won't implement though, because once you've risen in rank a bit, you'll find that you have to work pretty hard to not hit and maintain the 20 million credit limit and anything that passes thru the UCD, OCD, or even the dealerships is as easy as clicking "buy" (with the exception of a very few models which will drain the account to zero in one hit) I spent a half hour last night trying to figure out which dealership car I was going to buy just so I had few enough credits that I wouldn't immediately get the "you can't have more than..." message on my next race in the seasonals. And I'm not nearly good enough to be running 100 PP below the limit so it garners the phat rewards. I generally run ~10-30 PP below

Re: Being able to put a hold or a down payment on a car in the UCD or OCD

If my recollection is correct, if you have not run the latest time trial, you can make money that way without having the UCD change cars.

For high value cars, like the Chaparral, the best way to get them is to save your money and flip tickets.  Swerve has published detailed instructions on how to do that, although I am not sure if they survived the migration.
