Aero Kits on Race Cars

9 replies 423 views Edited Nov 22, 2012

I don't know if anyone has noticed but the Audi R8 (Team Playstation) is able to be fitted with a rear wing from the GT Auto shop. Are there any other race cars that can take  a wing from GT Auto?

Yes.  One of the standard Mazda sedan racers (either the Atenza or 6 TC) can take a GTAuto wing for the typical +20 rear aero (same as that one R8 race car you mentioned).  There may be others but I can't check GTData until it's back up (I don't remember whoch ones, and GTData lives in NJ and doesn't have cable yet).  I think one of them is the Honda Integra TC (also standard).

Thanks. I thought this was some new thing that was applicable to a WIDE range of race cars. I got excited for no reason lol

Nah, old thing is old.  The Mazda I mentioned and the R8 you mentioned could both be GTAuto-winged in GT4 as well.  The total number of cars like this is no more than a handful, probably less than 1% of the total count (which is right at 1100).

The Pescorolo C60 Hybride-Judd Race Car '05 is another that will accept more wing. You can't see the addition of course but for a mere C200,000 you can increase the rear down force from 85 to 105.

These are the ones I have confirmed:

1. Pescarolo C60 Hybride-Judd Race Car '05. 200,000 cr

2. Audi Race Car (Audi Playstation Team ORECA) '05. 200,000 cr

3. Honda NSX-R Prototype LM Race Car. 87,500 cr

4. Honda INTEGRA TYPE R Touring Car. 3,500 cr

5. Mazda Mazda6 Touring Car. 4,500 cr

6. Mazda Atenza Touring Car. 4,500 cr

The additional rear downforce is 20 on all these. On the hondas and mazdas, the appearance of the wing changes.

Now that GTDat is back, here's a search of it for the term 'wing' in the notes field.  If you have a GTData login you can make a copy for yourself (via clicking "duplicate search") instead of bookmarking.

Here's a better search for this thread; two criteria : "Race car = true" and "GTAuto aero = true".

http://www.gtdata.net/car_search_results.php?search_id=9014

Should be 100% complete unless GT5 has been changed since whatever cars' data was input.
