A spec MR Cup problem

8 replies 20 views Edited Dec 25, 2010

I'm having a bit of trouble getting gold on this series. Early on I bought a Ferrari 458 and I've tuned it up to about 629hp but I still can't win the first race in Deep Forrest against the McLaren F1. The Ferrari has trouble in the twisting slower sections of the track and it just won't turn very well. I haven't taken any weight off of the car yet but I'm still about 3 seconds behind the F1. I was getting beat by both the F1 and the Nissan road car until this last upgrade finally got me in front of the Nissan.

I've only got about 3.1 million credits so I don't really want to spend a million and get an F1 just to try and win this one race. Plus I'm trying to build some credits to get a good race car to wind the lower series with. A million credit hit would set me back quite a bit.

I was getting beat on the LeMans race by the Zonda because it would catch me on the Mulsanne or either going into Indianapolis but I caught a break when the Nardo W12 edged the Zonda off track on the final lap.

Any suggestions to try and help this car?

I always go for tires, weight and power...in that order.

I thought about reducing weight to see what that does. Currently I have soft sport tires on it. I'm wondering if I went with racing tires if that would make any difference.

Do you have the Toyota Minolta, yet? If not i would wait until i get that car. I can't remeber if it's an MR car or not. (Still at work) BUT from what i remeber you should be able to use that car for that race.  Can anyone confirm that the Toyota Minolta is MR or not!?

Racing tires soft will destroy the comp as well as weight reduction. I usually go weight, tires then power

tires, tires, tires.  i used a completely modded 458 for this race with racing medium tires and had no trouble winning

you don't neeed a license to drive, you only need one to get pulled over.
