SUPER GT GT500 Series: Season 2 (Thursday Night Online Series)

435 replies 454 views Edited Jun 22, 2012

Super GT Title.jpg

Super GT (GT500) Series: Season 2

Super GT or JGTC (GT500) Cars Only - Choose from the list below

You may only use ONE manufacturer for the entire season.  But, you may use any of the

cars from that manufacturer, as many times as you want.

You may NOT use the same car two races in a row.  If you do use the same car in consecutive

races, you will only receive 3 points regardless of where you finish.

If you feel the need to switch manufacturers at any time, you are welcome to do so.  But,

you will have 15 points deducted from your overall points in the standings.

Each driver gets 1 free manufacturer change.  Once you use it, it's gone.  Your next manufacturer

change will cost you 15 points.

Tires: Open

Any and All Assists are allowed

Horsepower Restriction - 502hp

Weight Restriction - 1100kg

Lobby will open at 8:30pm EST - Races will begin at 9:30pm EST SHARP!

Races will take place on Thursday nights

Winner Handicap

The winner of the previous weeks race, will have 5 seconds added to their total time.  5 seconds

will be added for each CONSECUTIVE race that you win.

Example:  You win week 1.  You then have 5 seconds added to your week 2 total time.  If you still

win week 2 (meaning you win by at least 5 seconds), you will then have 10 seconds added to your

week 3 total time.  If you manage to win week 3 (meaning you win by at least 10 seconds), you

will then have 15 seconds added to your week 4 total time.  Etc etc etc.

I wanted to incorporate a weight penalty to the winner, but with the qualifying system not working

right, I was not able to do that.  You may ask why I am doing a handicap at all.  Well, I want

the series to be as competitive as possible.  I want everyone to have a fair shot at winning, or

at least scoring some podium finishes.  Nobody likes to race when the winner is decided before

the green flag even drops.

-If you are in line to receive the 5 second penalty, but more than 1 driver finishes within 5 seconds of you,

after you cross the finish line first, you will still be credited with a second place finish.

Event Settings

Grid Order - Fastest First

-Enter the room and put down your best lap.  This will determine

       where you qualify.

Penalties - OFF

Race Finish Delay - 180 seconds

Grip Reduction - Real

Mechanical Damage - Light

Tire Wear/Fuel Consumption - On

Slipstream - Strong

Summary

Points

First Place - 10 points

Second Place - 9 points

Third Place - 8 points

Fourth Place - 7 points

Fifth Place - 6 points

Sixth Place - 5 points

Seventh Place - 4 points

Eight Place and below - 3 points

If you get disconnected during the race, you will be awarded

3 points, regardless of what your position was at the time.

**Your lowest score throughout the season will be dropped**

-This helps compensate for some people not having the Spa DLC

Manufacturer Championship

This series will also incoporate a manufacturer's cup.  Each manufacturer will be scored

just like the individual races (1st Place gets 10 points, 2nd Place gets 9 points, 3rd Place

gets 8 points, etc. etc.).  I will then take the total number of points for each manufacturer

and divide it by the total number of drivers that used that manufacturer.

For example:  Toyota drivers finish 2nd (9 points), 5th (6 points), 10th (3 points) and 11th (3 points).

That's a total of 21 points accumulated by 4 Toyota drivers.

I then divide 21 by 4 for an average of 5.25 points.

I will round all numbers up to the next whole number....in this case, Toyota would receive 6 manufacturer points.

In addition to this, the winning manufacturer of each race, will receive 10 bonus points ON TOP of

the average points already awarded.

This number will not be divided, it is strictly bonus points.

Here's another example:  Honda drivers place 1st (10 points) 3rd (8 points) 6th (5 points) and 9th (3 points).

That's a total of 26 points divided by 4 Honda drivers.  That's an average of (rounded up) of:  7 points.

Then add the 10 bonus points for winning, for a total of 17 manufacturer points for that race.

At the end of the season, if your manufacturer wins the manufacturers cup, you will be awarded 10

bonus points on to your drivers score.  Confused yet?  :-)

I have decided to set it up this way, so that each manufacturer will have a fair chance at winning

the cup, regardless of how many drivers choose to run that manufacturer.

Tie-Breaker Scenario

In the unlikely (but possible) event of a tie.  The tie breaker will be decided in the following order:

1) Most Wins

2) Manufacturer Score

3) Amount of races participated in

4) 5 Lap Race Off - Mt. Aso (Auto-generated): Number of Sections - 5  Complexity - 10

Prizes Prizes and more Prizes!!!

Prizes will be awarded throughout the season.  Here's the breakdown:

Individual Races:  Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd finishers of each individual race.

1st Place - Racing Soft Tires, Miscellaneous Racing Suit, Stage 3 Turbo Kit

2nd Place - Racing Suspension, Miscellaneous Racing Helmet, Racing Air Filter

3rd Place - Adjustable LSD

Series Winners:  The top 3 overall finishers will receive prizes

1st Place - Level 22 Ticket

2nd Place - Level 19 Ticket

3rd Place - Level 15 Ticket

Participation Prize:  If you participate in at least half of the races in this series, you will receive a

silver chrome or gold chrome paint chip.....no matter where you finish in the standings.

Any way you would consider not allowing the following:

SKID FORCE RECOVERY

ACTIVE STEERING

ASM

and just leave TCS,ABS and DRIVING LINE as optional???

running all those assists seems to change the whole handling characteristics of the cars and using them messes up a proper tuned car, meaning you need to tune your car for the assists...make sense?? I'm currently working on making thursdays nights my PS3 DAY...i had fun running these cars a couple times last year but i don't think all those assist are neccessary...At least it would make tire management more of a factor than it was before??? maybe...

X100!

Well said tguns SRF is the biggest load of crap I've ever seen. I don't know about the others I never used them.

SRF is at the least 1 second faster and saves tires like crazy. Without it you really have to "drive the car".

I'm liking the 5 second rule should make things interesting.

Ferrari F1 Season 2 Champ-6 wins 9 podiums
Exotics Season 2 Champ-5 wins 13 podiums
FGT Season 1 Champ 5 wins 5 podiums
Acura NSX '91 season 1 Got my A$$ handed to me 1 win
Megane Trophy Season 1 Champ 9 wins 9 podiums

what about just banning Skid force recovery. Thats the only one that really gives anyone an advantage. In the FF series i was 2.5 seconds faster on TSUkuba when using that. That one alone is more like a boost than anything...YOUR SERIES, YOUR RULES...I'll join as much as i can.

I agree. SRF can make your car significantly faster. That's why it's the only assist banned in the Le Mans Series. But also, like tguns said, It's your series, and whatever your decision is, I'll respect it.

I think I'll be running Lexus this year. Mostly because it was the least used last season. I want to help give the field more variety.

I'm in too and really, really looking forward to it.  These cars are very cool and can only imagine how fast you guys are.  I need some help tuning and wanted to know if there are any trusted resources out there. I'm just looking for some baseline information to build on is all not the secret sauce recipe. This way if the settings I make go haywire there is always the base to go back too.  The GT5 defaults don't seem to be a good place to start.

I don't have much seat time in these cars.  I thought I read on a here one time that some of these are tough to handle even if properly tuned.  Any advice you guys would like to share would be appreciated.

Thanks Guys and plan to be there Thursday.

The default settings are a great place to start. I have my EPSON NSX from last season on my shared list. You can copy down it's settings if you wish. However, the settings may only work on other NSX's due to the weight distribution and other fine details.

It'll probably stay there, since I'm planning on going with Lexus this season. Maybe I'll take it down if I start getting competitive, hehe.

Thank you.  :-)  The good news is that ANYBODY is allowed to use SRF (or any other assists).  So, if it's faster, then just use it. :-)
