Re: Monday Night Racing

Even with a wide-open choice, the racing was still very close.

Thanks for coming out and making it fun, everyone. Smiley Happy

OO now how would I do that?  Can you just have the game save the replay of every online race automatically or do you have to choose to save it somewhere afterwords?

I'd like to see what the leaders are doing while I'm putting along about 20 seconds or so behind Smiley Wink

You will have to manually save the replay after the race.  At the bottom of the screen next to the chat icon, there is a little "podium" icon, click on that icon and it will show you the race results screen.  At the bottom of the race result screen, there is a "movie clap board" button, that button is your save button.

I can post the last race on Mediafire tomorrow so that you can download and watch the race afterwards.

I kept 3 replays from last night.  You may copy and put the replays on your PS3 to watch the 3 races.  Please follow the instructions to doiwnload, unzip, transfer and load the replay files to your PS3 / GT5:  How to download and view/check a replay (from GT Planet)
The replays are available from the following URL.

cool!  but did you know that that is the incorrect line for that corner?  Credit to those around in prologue days for teaching many of us this... taking the high line (both versions of track) is the fastest.  Stay close the outside edge but not TOO close.  You'll get at least 20mph faster though that corner.

Re: Monday Night Racing

exX, thanks for the info.  I noticed that PKR_Cipriani was taking the high line and running closed to the barrier all the time when coming off the bridge onto the 1st banking corner, and when coming off the main straight before heading towards the tunnel, and gaining 1-1.5 seconds on everyone.

I started to follow Cipriani and Swerv lines coming off the bridge, and gained a lot of speed towards the main straight (although I brake rather than using the down-then-upshifting method enough).  However, I had all kinds of problem taking the high line when coming off the straight.  More often than not, I ended up in the barrier due to too much braking, leading to understeer and lack of control into the corner (plenty of tire smokes to prove that in the replay).  I will have to watch the replay through Cipriani's and Swerv's a few more times to have a better understand on the approach to that big bend.

yep, those guys would be VERY familiar with those corners.

just practice it and if a car wants to always go into the barrier there experiment with tuning and how much brake you need.

on the regular version of the track, a lot of cars reequire very little or no braking going into that same corner, which would be the final corner.  a long line of racers go into that corner, and yes the barrier contact does cause some wrecks, even for the most skilled.  it's part of what makes HSR so much fun and equalizes everybody!

Ice, I wanted to take a picture of one of our earlier race....4 Vipers against / surrounding / engulfed (call it what you wanted!  Smiley Surprised ) my 'Vette.  But you were so far in front from the picture before the first bend, or I just could not get a clean picturesque shot, so no picture was taken.  I am going to check if I have kept a field of 7 cars from another race later tonight.  If I have it, I will post it in here.

Edit:  Added pictures...Here we go...
