I think your too picky. Ascension all about Kratos and the Furies which are female spirits of justice and vengeance and we know why they pursue Kratos...He broke the blood oath with a God and has to pay according to them.
As for their looks the 3 furies if youd look up some info from greek mythology they:
'usually imagined as monstrous, foul-smelling hags, the sisters had bats' wings, coal-black skin, and hair entwined with serpents. They carried torches, whips, and cups of venom with which to torment wrongdoers. The Furies could also appear as storm clouds or swarms of insects."
and looking at Ascensions furies I think we should be glad that they don't look as bad as most descriptions of them.
I have no problem with their looks at all and since GoW is set in greek mythology how should it not fit the game...
