"if u look on ur screen, it tells u for like a sec."press the ps button" which is the round button with ps symbol on it on the middle between the select and start buttons. once u pressed that, the four lights will flash again until its connected to ur ps3 by bluetooth, once its connected only one light will light...light number 1 if ur player 1."
Make sure you have assigned your Playstation3 controller to a slot/number
turn on your controller you are going to asign to the Playstation3, by hitting the PS button on that controller
with or without the usb cable in....
**Note: You should Charge each Controller Completely, before using that Controller, in order to get full compacity of battery life**
Hold down the PS button on the Playstation3 controller for 5 seconds
a menu will drop down with the following options
-Third, Select the Option "Controller Settings"
two options will be avaliable
-Forth, Select the Option "Reassign the Controller"
Select which ever number you want your Controller for your Playstation3 to be assigned to
Then after you have done all that just hit the PS button screen once more to return to the main screen..
I kno how I connect it with or without my usb cable by pressing the ps button
the problem is that it wont connect with my ps3 that way
I think my bluetooth in my controller is broken or something
Well I had the same problem.
I gaurentee this will solve 90% of all you guys trying to connect your ps3 to the controller.
I recently borrowed my friends dual shock controller plugged it in pressed the ps button and it failed after several attempts.
What you need to do is look on the back of the ps3 controller, next to the top middle screw there is a tiny hole for the reset button.
First make sure your ps3 controller has batteies simply turn it on till its flashing and poke the reset button with a thin object.
Replug the controller to the ps3 and press the ps button hold for 5 seconds.
Thats how a pro does it!
I have tried all of these things and nothing works. When I turn on my system there is a grey screen that tells me in several languages to connect controller to usb and push ps button. I have done that, reset by pushing little button on the back, pushed ps button and unplugged, unplugged my wireless router for the home computer, moved home computer, etc. The screen will not change and the lights blink a few times then stop. Both controllers do this. One is a dualshock 3 the other is the sixaxis the system came with. Any suggestions?
Sounds like it's your system not your controller. Restart in safe mode http://boardsus.playstation.com/t5/PlayStation-3-G
