Hello, I am curious as to why I cannot use the free Battlefield 3 download even though I am a yearly plus member. I played it once and it shows expired, when I attempt to play it sends me to the store to purchase it. What can be done about this because it takes up 12gigs of space and I don't want to delete it if there is a work around. Thank you.
you may want to check your download list in the PS store and see if you can find the download, see if it says anythign there about whether its the full game or the free trial.
Sounds like this is another case where the OP downloaded the FGT when it became available over a year ago and never actually played it.
I did this, as well, but luckily, I thought about it while BF3 was part of the IGC. I tried to start the game and it took me straight to the store where I was able to 'purchase' the game for free. I then started the download and then cancelled it. Exited back to the XMB, started up BF3 and it worked.
Basically, just because you have the FGT downloaded, doesn't mean it automatically converts to the PS+ download. You still need to go through the motions of 'puchasing' it with your PS+ account.
Sadly, there is probably nothing Sony will be able to do about this.
ah that makes since, Battlefield and Call of duty sell online access passes to play multiplayer, it probably needed to confirm the purchase of that before giving you the purchased status. thats lame, I dont remember if I turned it on or if I just downloaded it last time, oh well.
hmmm if you played it a few weeks ago that is strange. Normally I would say this is an issue for customer service but they havent been very helpful in the past with issues like this. You could try though, their the only people who can actually fix it.
