Final Fantasy XI (PS2)

I wasnt expecting to get in but I did so now I have a really big issue facing me. I have never played an online game, I have a 4 yr old who is constantly needing me for some reason or other. And pause is used very often in my gaming. What do I do while online? Do I even have any kind of away/pause kinda thing. Or should I just curse myself to only playing after 1 am when all is calm at my home (which would really suck) Im quite nervous about this issue, help if you can.

I too am awaiting my beta, but I have played other online games.

You have NO pause.

There are safe spots to leave your character, but if you are in a group it would be very inconvenient to have a player constantly popping on and off.

I don't have a four year old, but I do have a pregnant wife who needs attention constantly.

I will be doing my playing after 12am MT, so I am sure peeps like us can get together when our little loved ones are sleeping.

I've given my 16 month old her own keyboard and PS2 controller (both broken, but she doesn't know that). This helps alot. You'd be amazed how understanding people are when you let them know you've got a diaper to change and will be right back

Yea my girl has a 27 inch tv and her own ps2 but she is still always needing something, I have taken all her snack items and put them where she can get to them but I doubt that will help to much, maybe I can get her into a pc game so she can play in the same room as me or something. That might work.

ya i gave me little cousin a broken keyboard and mouse when he is by me and im on the computer and he thinks he is actually doing stuff on the comp so doing that helps alot

it's great. My little girl will randomly pick up her controller and run around pushing the buttons, making her own sound effects that sound like beeps and crashes, etc...
