Final Fantasy XI (PS2)

I am starting FFXI again and want to know the best server. The carbuncle server, is it the official server of these forums? Is there a server better known to have more english players?

I love MMOs but I find it tedious to have to rely on a translator to play with someone. I wish I knew japanese but haven't the time to learn it.

You cannot "choose" a server, but you can get a world pass from someone who plays and join their server. Otherwise, you are put on a server randomly to even the population.

May be silly but isn't controlling what server you land on choosing.  Doesn't matter how it happens he still chooses XZY server gets a WP from that server and hes on that server.

Yes I am fully aware of the World Pass system. I was simply asking what server would be best to choose. I was going to get a world pass for that server. 

So I ask again: The carbuncle server, is it the official server of these forums? Is there a server better known to have more english players?

It doesn't matter what server if you are looking for English players...time of day determinds that. When it is night time in North America more Japanese players will be on-line and visa-versa.

I'm not sure if there is an offical server of the PSU forums.
