 Im interested in the ps3 ver. The game will be fine from what i've seen, give the game a chance dont be a hater lol.

btw real SE fans would not lose hope just saying..

Why do I feel like Square releases a lot of their games in January? Maybe it just coincidence or maybe I just have a bad memory, but it just always seems like their games come out in Q1.

They don't want to compete with almost all the AAA western releases that almost always come out end of year.

As far as competing with other relases ...

A. The FF series has a "niche" and rabid following
B. MMOs have a "niche" and rabid following
C. FF MMOs have a "niche" and rabid following
D. Console MMOs have a "niche" and rabid following
E. Console MMOs are few and far between
F. FF console MMOs are even rarer
G. Shooter fans dont care about MMOs.

My point being, when FFXIV releases for the PS3, it will have no competition, because there is no competition.

While true, it makes the assumption that people who would buy FFXIV would want nothing else to play. Since the vast majority of people have a limited budget and can not afford to buy multiple games in a short time period it forces them to make a choice between a AAA title all their friends will be playing with a niche JP title that only a handful, if any of their friends will play.

While I completely agree that FFXIV is better than a new assasins creed, halo, etc etc I know I am in the small minority However ... XCOM comes out next Tuesday and that is a game I wouldn't pass up for anything in the world, even a brand new Final Fantasy.

this games still aways off as far as i can tell. sometime after november the realm reborn pc beta goes up and we will be waaayyyy after that. i will be a day one player for this title regardless but honestly its just unexceptable how long this has been delayed. my bet is even after the realm reborn is released for pc we will still have a minimum of 6 months before we get our hands on it . idk anything really other then the wait is killing me. Also the delays have nothing to do with other titles coming out this holiday , it has to do with the limited functionality of the ps3' RAM.

Not a RAM issue anymore, that was the original game designs problem. 2.0 has addressed that issue (and many others) so that the game will run well on the PS3 as well as lower speced PCs.

Last I read the PC beta was coming in October/November, and we should have some solid (new) news on the PS3 version by mid to late October. Now whether that actually happens, who knows.

I hope it doesnt take too much more time, as I'm losing interest in this game (well, all games actually) and I have other hobbies and interests that Im pursuing. Not that the gaming industry cares about me, Im merely saying what Ive been passing my spare time with while waiting for a new game Im interested in to arrive.

I too will be a day one player. Assuming day one actually comes.

I been waiting for this game for like 2 or 3 years to come out on the PS3.  If i dont get into the beta for FFXIV (like i was in the beta for FFXI) i will be sooooo sad.
