In the anticipation of the upcoming Final Fantasy titles, I've been listening to some Final Fantasy music and some stuff by the Black Mages. It got me thinking (maybe I'll find more good music this way), what everyone's favorite Final Fantasy song, jingle, etc? I know there's a lot of fans of the music, let alone the game itself. Hell, I figure if there's CDs of it out there, I'm sure there's a good amount of listeners who have their favorites.

Honestly, The Black Mages are probably my most listened to band right now. 

My favorite overall OSTs are from VI and IX. VIII had some great stuff too; though many critics seem to disagree. 

I'd get into specific favorite tracks from each entry, I'm just far too lazy to take that much time right now. 

Check out a band called Cursory Hearts on myspace. They cover the FFVII battle music and do it quite well.

I'd really like to pick up the Black Mages album. I love listening to them online. I just can't find the CD for a price I find reasonable enough. (Keeping in mind I'm paying in $CDN)

FFIX "Melodies of Life" - This isn't my favorite, but I mention it first because always feel a rush of nostalgia come over me when I hear this song.

FFVIII "Liberi Fatali" (Spl?) - Okay this song MADE the opening movie of FFVIII IMO. That and it's an awesome song.

FFVIII "Waltz for the Moon" - This song is definitely in my top 3 fave FF songs. I just like it a lot!

FFX "Fight With Seymour" - I just recently started replaying X and have fallen in love-to-hate again with Seymour.

FFIX "Rose of May" - I love Beatrix and this song always reminds me of her.

FFIX "Feel My Blade" - The song played during the mock "I Want to be Your Canary" battle. This captures the essence of FFIX IMO. In my top 3.

FFIX "Frontier Village Dali" - Another nostalgia piece. It reminds me of the beginning of Vivis beautiful story, and beginning to uncover some dark secrets.

There are so many more! But I'll stop here because I'm running out of room. I <3 FF Music!

There are three Black Mages albums available right now. In my opinion, The Skies Above, their second outing is the best. I found all three on Amazon.com for sale that will ship to Canada. Granted, they're quite expensive seeing as they're imports. You may want to try itunes and other such sites to buy the songs individually.
