there is nothing I hate more than playing with a inverted axis. If I press up, I wanna look up, not down. Is there a way to change this? I have looked in the game menus but I really hope im overlooking it and one of you is gonna tell me how to fix this.
Japanese devs are absolutely TERRIBLE when it comes to that damn Y axis on the camera. It's always inverted and they never allow it to be changed.
FFXII, Kingdom Hearts 1&2 (Maybe Chain of Memories RE too) and MGS3 Subsistance are all really good titles just off the top of my head that suffer from the same stupidity.
Frankly there should be global mandate on the subject of remapping controls. Analog axes should ALWAYS be changeable. And all face buttons should also be changeable. No exception.
EDIT: Oh! I think Dawn of Mana too. I'll probably be returning to this post all day as more and more of these mess ups pop into my head.
Think of it this way: when you push down, the camera itself goes DOWN, but remains centered on you, so it looks up. Same with horizontal.
In FPSs particularly it makes sense with the Y axis. You pull back on the analog stick, and your characters head pulls back.
Well just because it makes sense for you or in a given genre, doesn't mean it does for everyone. Locking it in one way or the other is not only dumb, it's a **bleep** move.
Didn't mean to offend anyone. I was just offering a suggestion. If it's a problem getting used to because it doesn't make sense that pushing down makes you look up, I was just explaining a way to look at it so that it makes sense. If it makes sense to someone, it's easier to get used to.
