Speaking of moghouses... I really hope they keep being able to switch jobs. As far as I know ffxi is the only mmo that you can be all your different jobs/classes on the same toon.

You can be more than one job on the same character, but it's gonna be slightly different. http://www.finalfantasyxiv.com if you haven't already been there to see the new info.

I can agree with no loading zones. But anyones who's played any MMO before would know city-wide chat would be aweful.
I think proximity chat is the best solution. This was in FFXI... if you were in the same zone as someone but too far away from them, you couldn't see what they typed.
On another note, shout should be disabled in cities. I don't want to have 600 lines of txt pop up when I enter the city because some kid needs a teleport-dem or is selling items.
Furthermore, I really hope they crack down on bots. None of this letting people be logged in for 24+ hours. It's not necessary. I think they should put a cap on 8 hours, if that. You don't need to play for more than 8 hours a day, if you do, thats rediculous and you seriously need a life.
Moreso, if your not doing anything, you should be auto-booted. None of this sitting in corners with your bazaar flag up. To be in the game, you should actually be playing the game. I hated seeing people just seeing doing nothing. Thats what drives the slave industry.

Wow dude.. City wide chat wouldn't be THAT bad. Like really? Explain how it WONT benefit you or other people?
Disable shout IN the city where it's the most important to use??? You cannot be serious.I barely use shout when I am not in a city cause there's almost NO need for it. Shout is probly one of THE most important chat channels in any MMO. TO disable it cause YOU don't like it would be retarded. The point of a shout is to get the word out to multiple people and cause it bothers you cause people use the shout function for what it's for, then don't play an MMO.
I agree with the idle people, but only allowing you 8 hours a day to play? That is rediculous. I pay for the game every month, I don't need you or someone else to dictate how long I play. Maybe I am disabled and have 8 hours a day to play? Maybe I play 4 hours start at 10am then play another 4hours at 6pm. Then after that I can't play again? The game isn't made to convenience just you buddy. Maybe an auto disconnect for people who are idle for an hour, but not a limit to how long you can play.

And he says if you play that long you need a life... Wow, I have a job a wife and kids and I shoul be able to be logged in for 12 hours a ay playing here an there if I want.

PSX I coulda swore you were one of the first people in here that mentioned the update?? They updated it last week. I would definitely register again on another e-mail cause I think that the newsletter registration may also be a link to beta.

You guys understand that most games have a recommendation that you don't play for more than an hour a day?
I don't know how many people remember, but people used, and still do, sell Gil for real money. This ruins the game for everyone. You now how they make gil? By being on their character for rediculous amounts of time making gil.
You don't need to be on for more tan 8 hours a day. You can't argue this. It's not a matter of you pay for this game. It's a matter of 8 hours a day to spend playing FFXIV is **bleep**ing rediculous. You don't just need a life if you pla for 8 hours a day, you need serious help. It's just wrong...
Yes it is your right to play more than 8 hours a day, but the average player wouldn't even play for 8 hours a day. Putting an 8 hour cap won't really affect anyone except people who abuse the systems.
As for auto-boot after an hour of idling... no. Needs to be shorter. Short enough that it will significantly inconvenience people. This isn't catering to me, this is helping everyone. After a half hour of idling, auto-boot should kick in. Not the GM asking the player how he's doing, and if he doesn't reply then he gets kicked.
If the player doesn't move his character for a half hour, they should be auto-booted.
As for people who say "What if i need to go to the bathroom, or do something for a half hour?"
Log the **bleep** out! Don't need people who aren't playing clogging up the servers.
