Final Fantasy Series

One of the creators was asked if they were making a remake of FF7 and he said that when they made ff14 they were "making it better, to surpass older games in this series". He also stated before Square Enix even thought of making a remake, they would wait until the 25 anniversary of their company. The reporter also asked would they wait so long when they would benefit so much from that one game. My guess is, they are waiting till they hit rock bottom.

Dude Square Enix said they had they had no plans anytime soon to remake Final Fantasy VII.

This has been going on for far too long. They'll fail to successfully remake FFVII. What worked and what they were doing in 1997 does not reflect what they're doing now in 2012. How many console turned based RPGs are out there now? They can't remake it because they'd have to change it to meet today's gamers action oriented gameplay. I would hate to see FFVII turned into an action RPG, where I set up strategies to the other players and not control them.

I don't see a remake happening, not because of some attempt to surpass the VII with another game, but because the Japanese market is trying to move to mobile gaming. This is just my opinion, though.
