I've been gone awhile, so long that I preordered this game and only got a few hours into before my hiatus. Anyway once I got back there are all sorts of DLC - from weapons, costumes, coliseum opponents, to even new episodes!
I just had some questions to all this dlc upon dlc. As of right now the only things I know of is that I don't want to buy the skins of characters from other games (like I think I saw Mass Effect and Assassins Creed) everything else I am not sure.
Costumes: A lot of them looked cool, but do they have any added attributes or are they just cosmetic? If not are they at least featured in the cut scenes. Same question for the moogles pack seeing how they could be easier to render?
Weapons: More or less the same question about the cut scenes, they did mention about added bonuses but are they much more powerful than anything in game?
Coliseum Opponents: Do they make your party much stronger if you win them? I have a feeling like this is a throw in for extra cash from us... or something to do after we beat the game.
Episodes: Finally I get to what I was truly interested in the episodes. Should I buy the episodes right away to get the full experience; are they linear or would it ruin the story for me? Or are they stand alone stories, if so do they transfer over like gil and items?
Lastly of the episodes are there any I should stand clear of or are they all must own?
Thanks in advance, I know I asked a lot so I greatly appreciate what you can answer regarding any of this FF13-2 DLC plea of mine.
According to the Final Fantasy XIII-2 DLC list, purchased costumes for the game do not appear in the CG cut scenes. However, they will show up throughout at least some of the in-game story (in addition to the gameplay).
As for the other questions, I would think that DLC paid for on weapons and coliseum opponents would be fairly powerful compared to those you can't get playing under normal circumstances. For instance, Omega was a pre-order bonus from Amazon, and is available as DLC. If you're curious to see how this creature would affect your circumstances in battles then paying for the DLC could make your team that much stronger (provided you don't mind spending extra just to boost your status).
Costumes: they are purely cosmetic, no bonuses, even the Black/White Mage costumes. The moogle costumes are the same.
Weapons: they add some bonuses to your chars, but since FF is a single player game I don't see the need to buy them, unless you really need them to defeat some boss.
Coliseum: same as weapons, with the exception of Gilgamesh and maybe Omega wich are really interesting battles.
Scenarios: Sazh's story is just a bunch of casino minigames. Lightning's is really short. The only one I recommend is Snow's, and if you can affort it, Lightning's just to understand the story a little more.
Hi i need some help, i had not too long ago today downloaded the DLC for final fantasy 13-2, the one for lighting- lightings Requiem of the Goddess and its not showing up on my game. I got the game off ebay and it came from the UK, i talked to my local gamestop and they said the DLC should be universal and should work, and i would also like to know dose the DLC show up or work on its own or do i have to do something in the game for it to work. THANKS
