Re: Dead or Alive 5 Announced for PS3, 2012 Release

Oct 9, 2011

I heard from IGN that DOA 5 is incorprating PS Move, and was thinking to myself how are they going to use Move? is it going to be for some mini game thing or since the PS3 does supprt up to 7 controllers you could use 7 Move controllers that covers the limbs or something.

They'll be releasing a Move 4-Pack with some straps so you can attach them to both arms and legs...

Some more details for DOA5:

“Here’s a little more explanation about what’s going on in the pre-alpha gameplay. Keep in mind that the game is still in development, so things could change between now and the final version.

“The part where time slows down and Hayate hits Hayabusa back into the steel beams–that’s a Power Blow. The fighter doing a Power Blow has a little time to change the direction. So you could choose what Danger Zone to send an opponent into.

“When Hayabusa is dangling from the edge of the platform–that’s a new kind of Danger Zone we’re calling a Cliffhanger. Hayabusa could have turned things around on Hayate. BTW, you can tell if a strike hits high, mid or low by the direction of the hit effect.

“Some of you have questions about the core systems and moves you see in the pre-alpha gameplay. In the footage, they haven’t changed very much from the past. Just keep in mind that we’re still pre-alpha. We do have a new concept for the core fighting as well, though. And we’ll definitely talk to you more about it when there’s something solid to show.”

Thanx for this. I agree on the ninjas & hope they don't emphasize them as much in the next (although the trailer worries me).

Hitomi & Ayane revealed:

Glad to see the 'dollish' look is gone.  And they seem to lose their jackets between screens.  Hitomi's shirt is also dirty in the one she doesn't have it on so maybe characters get dirty as the fight goes on?

Woah!  I've literally just watched all previews that I could find on this game and yep, I'm excited!

The DOA series is among the most entrertaining I have ever played and that's saying a lot as I've played a LOT and am still in love with my dear old Soul Calibur2.

I Seriously Can't wait for this and I know that Team Ninja will do it justice.   anyone worried about it being Ninja heavy, I think you shouldn't sweat that too much as there will be enough characters to even out the fighting styles.

Bring it on says a very happy Mista!

I'm out for a week & this happens (been dividing my time between Skyrim & SWTOR).  Thanx again Slashzaku.   If the PS3 move stuff is true then that means the competiion will try for some Kinect accessability... meh.  Gimmicks are giimmicks,  I want the stuff I mentioned before.
