[DEMOLITION_D]

Okay so I finished the Blood Ties quest a while ago, talked Ian back into coming home and to quick his flesh eating crap and became friends with the head vampire guy, etc. etc. My karma is perfect, never done a bad thing in this entire game, and I wanna keep it that way!

So I'm lookin' through my inventory and I still see Lucy's message, from the Blood Ties quest, that I was supposed to give to her family. So to be nice I go back to Arefu, talk to Evan King, see how he's doin', talk to Karen, then I enter Ian's house.

He starts **bleep**ing shooting at me like a mad man after saying "Well what do we have here?" I run outside 'cause I don't wanna kill the guy and flippin' Evan King is waiting for me and starts shooting too! What the hell!? I killed them both and lost karma, then reloaded my game save. Can someone please tell me what I did? Is this a glitch or something?

When you were about to enter the house on the bottom of the screen was the type red.

Because if it was it would be considered trespassing and every NPC in the area would become hostile.

Thats really wierd maybe if you just leave and come back later they wont be hostile

Run far away and fast travel, dont go back for around 4 game days and hopefully it will blow over.

Well I'd really like to get this note out of my inventory and it kind of ticks me off that I get there and everyone is freaking shooting at me for no goddamn reason, ya know?

Yeah I know what thats like. Just try walking in there if he's still hostile then holister your weapon, sometimes people will stop fighting if you do it. then talk to him, give him letter, Happy Gilmore. If he's still hostile even after you holister your weapon then just walk back out run and fast travel like somebody else said. Come back in a couple days (after you do some main story quest and "Rock Goes BOOM" would def be long enough if you can hold out that long...you'll know what I'm talking about) and when you return everything should be fine. Either way it's only a letter and I think you can even drop it if you really don't want to carry it. Hope this helps.

I gave the note to Ian when i was convincing him to not become a vampire.  That was actually the thing that snapped him out of it.  I think you missed the opportunity to give it to him, but i dont know why he was hostile towards you, other than tresspassing.
